Learn how to complete the Weaver's Peak quest in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age. Get tips on defeating the boss Dud Dude and claim your rewards!
Alright, so you've finally gotten the Ultimate Key and are ready to tackle some of those pesky locked doors. Head over to Puerto Valor, find the locked door there, and you'll meet a Tockle. You might have to look closely, as this one likes to hang out on a bench!
- 1First things first, when you arrive in Weaver's Peak, chat with the lady on the left. She's got a bit of a family drama going on – her brother's been acting super weird and fashion-obsessed since he got back. She's convinced it's not really him and wants you to help expose the imposter.
- 2She'll point you towards Quester's Rest to find out how to get to the bottom of this. So, zip over to Quester's Rest and find the warrior chilling at a table. He'll give you the lowdown: the key to uncovering the truth is something called Bodura Grass.
- 3He'll tell you to head to the third level of the Ruby Path of Doom to find it. If you've got any Holy Protection or Holy Waters, now's a good time to use them as you make your way up there.
- 4Once you reach the third floor, go straight north. You're looking for an NPC chilling near those two chests you might remember from before. Talk to her, and she'll hand over the Bodura Grass.
- 5Now, head back to Weaver's Peak. Find Tania and have a word with her. Then, it's time for the big reveal: toss that Bodura Grass onto her brother. Surprise! It's a monster, and you'll need to get ready for a boss fight.
BOSS - Dud Dude
This guy, Dud Dude, might look like a regular Troll just swinging away, but he's got more tricks up his sleeve. He's got a hefty 9600 HP, so this fight will take a while. Plus, he can attack two or even three times in a single turn, so be ready to defend!
- Keep an eye out for his Kazap attempt – it always fails, so you get a free turn when he tries it. Don't waste it!
- He also likes to waste a turn trying to impress Tania, which is great for you.
- His Crackerwhack is a physical attack that hits everyone and might make a character lose their next turn.
- He can also do a charge attack that hits a single character pretty hard, about as much as his regular attack.
- Inferno is his breath attack that hits the whole party, though it's not as strong as some other versions you might have seen.
- He's got Venom Mist too, but thankfully he doesn't use it often. It can poison your whole party, so keep those healing spells ready.
- His most dangerous move is his critical hit, which can deal over 350 damage to a single character. Make sure your party's HP is always topped off.
- You can try using Sap to lower his defenses, but honestly, your attacks should be doing decent damage anyway, so it's not strictly necessary.
After you defeat the impostor, this quest wraps up, and you'll get your reward: a Kaleidocloth.
