Walkthrough for The Manglegrove in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age. Find items, defeat monsters, and learn about the Fun-Size Forge.
Walkthrough
- 1From the entrance, head south and speak to the merchant. He sells a new Boomerang and Pointy Hat for Erik, as well as crafting materials like Flintstones, Small Scales, and Fresh Water.
- 2Continue south to the first open area. Behind a stone column, find a Sparkly Spot containing a Wakerobin.
- 3Cross the bridge and keep to the right. By a tree, find another Sparkly Spot with an Antidotal Herb.
- 4In the same open area, find a Cow in the northwest section. Speak to it for a weather forecast. Speaking to 10 different cows unlocks a Trophy.
- 5Take the east path (the west path is a dead end for now).
- 6In the next open area, search the ground to the left for a Sparkly Spot containing a Small Scale.
- 7Continue along the path and climb ledges. Find a Flower gathering point with Antidotal Herb, Wakerobin, and a Cottontop.
- 8On a nearby ledge, find a chest containing a Mini Medal.
- 9Head back to the center intersection and south across the bridge. Erik will set up a camp and introduce the Fun-Size Forge.
- 10You will receive a Recipe Book teaching recipes for Bronze Swords and Divine Daggers. You can find more Recipe Books throughout the world.
- 11You will go through a tutorial on how to forge. You can forge Weapons, Equipment, and Accessories.
- 12Forge a weapon using the Recipe Book. You will need a Copper Ore and a Fresh Water to forge a Divine Dagger for Erik.
- 13During the forging process, aim for the green sections of the gauges to increase equipment quality. Use Flourishes later in the game to improve results.
- 14Successfully forging equipment may yield a +3 version and Perfectionist Pearls, used to rework and enhance existing equipment.
- 15Enhance the Hero's Greatsword using Perfectionist Pearls if you have them.
- 16The next morning, equip Erik with the newly forged Dagger.
- 17Save your game and enter the nearby hut.
