Walkthrough

Start at the Base of Cobblestone Tor with Gemma and Sandy. Familiarize yourself with the controls and the Hero's equipment (Cobblestone Sword and Cobblestone Greatsword).

Head towards the bridge to speak with Dunstan, the Elder.

Continue up the path and engage in your first battle against three Slimes. Use regular attacks as you have no special abilities yet. Sandy will assist.

After the battle, go left to a monument and search behind it for a Pot Lid (useful if not using the Greatsword).

Enter the cave. Follow the path and take a right at the intersection. Climb the wall using the [X Button] to scale ledges.

At the end of this short path, find a Sparkly Spot at the base of a tree to obtain a Medicinal Herb.

Return to the intersection and follow Sandy deeper into the cave. You will receive a tutorial on initiating battles by swinging your weapon.

Continue fighting Slimes.

As you cross a bridge and enter the cave again, you'll encounter Needlers. Defeat them and continue to the next intersection.

Take a right at the intersection and proceed to stairs where you'll find two pots. Smash them to get another Medicinal Herb and 5G.

Return to the intersection and follow the path into the caverns. Find a Sparkly Spot containing Copper Ore.

Continue through the cave until you emerge outside where fog has gathered. You will face two Smogs. Keep your HP above 10. Gemma will heal you if needed. Sandy can stun them.

After the Smog battle, the boy returns to the village. Look in the northwest corner of the area near a tree to find a Pink Pine.

Head towards the rope and climb it using the [X Button].

Follow the ledge around the mountain. In the northwest corner near a tree, find another Pink Pine.

Proceed towards the cave to return to the bottom of the area.

Tips

The Cobblestone Greatsword offers more offense but sacrifices the ability to use a shield. Greatswords are a strong choice for the Hero, especially in the first Act.
Initiating battles by swinging your weapon at monsters on the field deals initial damage. Make this a habit.
Items found in pots and barrels are a one-time collection. Sparkly Spots will respawn over time.
If you're having trouble with Smogs, use the Frizz spell.
