The Headquarters becomes available during the Separate Ways main quest. It can be upgraded four times, with each level unlocking new facilities and upgrades. To rank up your HQ, you'll need to recruit a specific number of allies, have sufficient Headquarters Funds (which generate over time), and gather specific materials.

Level 2

Requires 6,400 Funds, 26 Allies, and 100 Food. Food can be purchased via the “Establish Pasturage” Blueprint (requires recruiting Martha) or farmed from gathering nodes in Bounty Hill (nodes respawn every five minutes).

New Facilities at Level 2:

  • Divination Parlor – Reveals the locations of recruitable allies.
  • Library – View an encyclopedia featuring enemy weaknesses, locations, and drops.
  • Restaurant – Purchase meals that provide party buffs.
  • Appraiser Shop – Appraise Unidentified Items.
  • Card Shop – Challenge other players at Card Battle and purchase card packs.
  • Rune-Lens Shop – Purchase new Rune-Lens.
  • Stowpack – Increases Inventory and Resource Bag limit.
  • Armor Shop – Purchase the latest equipment.
  • Accessory Shop – Purchase the latest accessories.
  • Smithy – Increases Weapon Level.
  • Drill Ground – Allows development of allies' abilities when they are not in your party.
  • Hotspring – Provides a party buff.
  • Fishing Spot – Allows gathering of fish.
  • Hunters Cabin – Allows obtaining Pelts.
  • Mission Guild – Allows dispatching allies on missions.

Level 3

Requires 11,760 Funds, 46 Allies, and 4 Excellent Lacquer. Excellent Lacquer can be acquired from gathering points in the Dappled Forest - Depths.

New Facilities at Level 3:

  • Auditorium – Listen to the game’s soundtrack.
  • Workshop – Build furnishing for Nowa’s Room and the town.
  • Mysterious Room – Recruit Selbineth and unlock Hero’s Trials.
  • Drill: Mock Battle – Engage in mock war battles (completing all five unlocks an achievement).
  • Trading Post – Opens a Trading Post in town.
  • Nowa’s Room: Redecorate – Customize furnishings in Nowa’s Room.
  • Mission Guild – Send allies on missions for rare items.
  • Theater – Perform plays using found scripts.
  • Racing Stables – Hold Eggfoot Races and breed them.

Additionally, Fishing Rod Upgrades and new fishing Spots become available. The Armor, Item, Accessory, Smithy, and Card Shops can also be upgraded further.

Level 4

Requires 38,400 Funds, 100 Allies, 380 Food, 60 Pelt, and 2 Legend. Beat Horn. Food and Pelt are obtained naturally via HQ Facilities. Legend. Beat Horn can be acquired from gathering spots in Bounty Hill - Depths, Snowpeak Paths, or from certain Mission Guild tasks.

Level 4 provides final upgrades for most facilities and the final set of Mission Guild tasks. It also enables the Depot: Conversion Feature for material conversion and the construction of Landmarks for unique HQ aesthetics.
