Learn how to win the Recapture of Eltisweiss War Battle in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. This guide covers strategies for defeating Chapell and his forces.

Alright, so you're gearing up for the Recapture of Eltisweiss War Battle! By now, you should have pretty much everyone recruited, which is great because you need Leene for this. With a full roster, your units should be pretty powerful, but if you want an extra edge, check those HQ Blueprints for nodes that boost unit strength. It'll make this battle a breeze.

This battle feels familiar, right? It's basically the reverse of the first war battle at Eltisweiss. This time, Chapell is defending, and you're starting out on the southern side, outside the main walls. Your main goal is to take down Chapell's unit. Honestly, you can probably win without even bothering with the other generic enemy units, but hey, whatever works!

When you start, you'll notice a big wall and gate blocking your path, just like before. Don't worry, though! As you move forward on the first turn, there's a quick cutscene where Seign's Rune-Tank smashes through the main gate. Plus, moving the two units on the outside will also bring up some portable ramps. Once you reach the outer walls, these ramps will be set up, letting your units get inside.

Keep an eye on your units, as some will move automatically at the start. They're safe for now, not running into enemies right away. Just keep your other units moving with them. When you do start encountering enemies, don't forget to use your Legion Commands! They'll seriously speed things up.

Depending on how Chapell moves, you might run into him pretty quickly. If he links up with other enemy units, some of yours could be in danger, so try to keep your forces grouped up if you can. Once you defeat Chapell's unit, the war battle ends, and you'll finally enter Eltisweiss!

Chapell Boss Guide

Once you're inside Eltisweiss, head north. You'll run into some Imperial soldiers. These guys are generally pretty easy, so you shouldn't have much trouble. Just follow the objective marker, and you'll eventually confront Chapell and his Imperial Elites. Make sure to take out those three Elites first before you focus all your attention on Chapell.

Chapell himself isn't too tough. He doesn't have a huge variety of attacks. His basic attack seems to be magical and can hit anyone. He also has 'Thor's Hammer,' a single-target spell that hits a character multiple times for decent damage. Then there's 'Lightning Surge,' a wind magic attack that hits a column. He doesn't seem to use any other moves, so defeating him should be pretty straightforward.

After you win this battle, you'll get a Rune of Tempest, and Eltisweiss will finally be free from Imperial control. There will be some cutscenes, and then you'll regain control back at your Headquarters. Remember, with Eltisweiss liberated, you can now access some Rare Shop Items there. After that, head to the Great Hall to prepare for the final showdown with Dux Aldric at Gardhaven Castle!
