The Ice Cave Walkthrough: In The Land Of Snow

Upon entering the Ice Cave, move forward past the save point to find the first child. After a scene, you'll see cracks on the ground emitting icy winds. Step on a crack when the wind blows to get frozen, then wiggle the left analog stick to break free. This mechanic is crucial for navigating the dungeon.

From the initial area, go north then west to the edge of the path to trigger a scene where Rudy explains encasing the party in ice to cross gaps.

Return to the fork, go east to a wind vent, and stand on it to be frozen and sent to the bottom of the cave.

At the bottom, open the chest for a Rune of Quick Slash. Stand on the next vent to slide further down. Inspect the large greenish icicle with a crack.

Head south to another screen. Wait for the icy wind to stop, then move past it to open a chest containing an Ancient Shield.

Return to the initial wind vent. Get frozen and immediately start wiggling the analog stick. If done correctly, the ice will break after the first gap, revealing a chest with a Blue Symbol.

Continue on the spiraling track, ignoring the northern path for now. Collect the Rune of Currents from a chest off to the side. The vent here leads back to the bottom, where you still can't progress.

Go back to the beginning of the cave and take the route that leads to the previously mentioned northern fork. The vent here leads to a different section of the lower area.

Navigate past cracks on the upper path to find another child. Loot the chest next to them for an Anti-Paralysis Scarf. Use the ice to return down the path; the previously non-functional crack will now have wind.

Use this wind to slide down to the bottom, near the cracked icicle. It will have fallen, forming a bridge. Cross it and save your game at the save point ahead.

Continue north, taking the smaller path at the next fork. Use the ice to slide down to a new trail. Follow it east/north to find a third child.

Exit this area and return to the section with the fallen icicle. Look for the path leading south, where wind is now blowing from a crack. This leads to the final section of the cave.

Move past the ground cracks, avoiding the wind. At the eastern bend, find a chest containing an Eyepatch.

Continue to the save point, heal, and proceed to the waypoint to trigger the boss fight against Fenrir.
