Where to Start:

First things first, you'll want to head over to Fushimi. Make your way to the docks located on the southern part of the area. You know, right near where you can use the Boatman to travel to your second home? Keep an eye out, and you should spot a cat chilling on the edge of a pier board. Approach it and select the 'Look at it' option to kick things off.

How to Complete:

Honestly, this Substory is a breeze. Once you interact with the cat, a scene will play out where it takes a tumble into the water. Don't worry, Ryoma jumps right in to save the day! You'll both end up back on the pier, looking pretty grimy. Ryoma decides the best course of action is to take the cat to the bathhouse to get cleaned up. From here on out, it's all automatic scenes, so just sit back and watch.

By washing the filthy cat, you'll earn 150 Virtue.

How to Max The Filthy Cat’s Bond:

To max out the cat's bond, you'll need to do a bit of back-and-forth. The general idea is to enter a nearby building and then return to the spot where you first found the cat. The Teradaya inn is super close, making it a convenient choice, though the Komaki Dojo isn't too far either. Each time you return to the cat, you'll trigger another scene where you clean it up, and this will gradually fill the bond gauge.

Eventually, you'll reach a point where the cat isn't at its usual spot. Don't panic! Listen for some commotion just east of where you normally find it. You'll discover a group of people gathered around the cat. Ryoma will step in, claim the cat as his own, and take it to the bathhouse one last time. After this, you'll decide to bring the cat back to your second home, where it officially becomes your pet, and its bond will be maxed out.
