Substory 25

In Chapter 3, travel to the Rakugai area, specifically the Sannocho subarea.

Locate the Jizo Statue in the southwestern corner of Sannocho.

Approach the portly gentleman standing to the east of the Jizo Statue to begin the Substory.

The man will express his love for swords and ask to see Ryoma’s. After showing him, he reveals himself as a sword enthusiast and collector, initiating a bond and requesting specific swords.

The first request is for an Ebony Sword. To craft this, you need the Nameless Sword (purchased from the Arms Dealer in Mukugorai for 1,000 mon), a Crooked Magnet (1,200 mon from the Materials Vendor), and five Iron Scraps (480 mon each from the Materials Vendor). The total crafting cost is 1 ryo 0450 mon.

Once the Ebony Sword is crafted, present it to the Odd Man.

The second request is for the Yaksha Blade, which requires the Ebony Sword, a Picture of a Ghost (obtainable from random enemy encounters or by fully bonding with The Mysterious Merchant), and five Metal Sheets (obtainable from random enemy encounters). The crafting cost is 2 ryo 3750 mon.

Craft the Yaksha Blade and present it to the Odd Man to complete his requests for this substory.
