Complete walkthrough for Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Part 32, covering the Substation Access, Substation Gate, and Substation Control areas, including the Live Selection choices and puzzle solutions.
Honestly, it's much safer to just SHOTGUN blast any enemies here. Once you're ready, climb the long stairs and head around the corner to find an elevator and a control panel. Use the BATTERY on the empty slot to power it up, then take the elevator down.
322 Substation Access
Immediately begin running forward and stop at the second camera angle switch. Hit R2 to target an unseen red barrel and fire, taking out at least a few of the seven zombies shambling around. The corpse behind you has a box of H.GUN BULLETS. Sidestep or dispose of the remaining hostiles, pass by the first locked door and enter the Substation through the iron gate.
323 Substation Gate
Two RED HERBS may appear in this quiet fenced-in area, unless they showed up back at 320 Gas Station. Move to the next door.
324 Substation Control
Walk past the two shuttered doors and note the machine with the one large red button, but don't press it just yet. Run to the very end of this room and check the table near a rusty metal door for three bottles of GUNPOWDER B, which will either appear here or inside 120 Office Storage further ahead.
Now you can push that red button, which activates a second nearby panel. If you examine the right shutter, you'll see it can be unlocked with between 115 and 125 volts, while the left shutter unlocks between 15 and 25 volts. Use the voltage control panel to the left of both shutters to begin a puzzle.
Jill needs to manipulate the voltage with four pairs of buttons to reach the target. 50 volts is always the starting number. The four red buttons increase the voltage by a set amount, while blue decreases the voltage:
| NORMAL | OVERLOAD | |||||||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| x1 | x2 | x3 | x4 | x1 | x2 | x3 | x4 | |||||
| Red | +15 | +30 | +45 | +60 | +15 | +30 | +45 | +60 | ||||
| Blue | -5 | -10 | -15 | -20 | -10 | -20 | -30 | -40 | ||||
Press [Red, Blue, Blue, Blue] to open the left shutter, but don't enter the room past the shutter yet. Hit [Blue, Red, Blue, Red] to also open the right shutter. The left room has the next cable car part, the FUSE, while the right room has a metal cabinet containing a new weapon. You'll find a MAGNUM if you got the G.LAUNCHER at the police station, and vice-versa.
Entering either of these small rooms, taking the item and then attempting to leave will trigger a sudden Zombie attack, as well as the next Live Selection:
- LIVE SELECTION #3
- HEAD TO THE EMERGENCY EXIT: Jill forces open the back door and finds herself back at Substation Access, only to be surrounded by several Zombies. A rocket fired from off-screen destroys them all, and then Nemesis jumps down from his perch to confront Jill. Choosing this option also means that you missed either the FUSE (which is required to progress) or the new weapon, and you'll definitely want both. Going back for the missing item may be tricky with Nemesis on your tail.
- INCREASE ELECTRICITY OUTPUT: Jill presses a button on the nearby panel, which overloads the transformer and fries the encroaching Zombies. If you failed to open both shutters before the Live Selection, the voltage puzzle will be altered and you'll have to use a different solution to get the second shutter open. Use [Blue, Blue, Red, Blue] for the left or [Blue, Blue, Red, Red] for the right shutter. Be sure to grab either the FUSE or the new weapon, then head back the way you came.
- DO NOTHING: Four Zombies burst through the gate and head straight for Jill. Dodging them all is tough, so waste 'em with the SHOTGUN before grabbing both the FUSE and the new weapon, then head back through the gate. Similar to the previous option, Nemesis is waiting for you at Substation Access, but he prefers to fire rockets at Jill from his rooftop perch until either his ammo is depleted, or Jill gets too close to the elevator leading back to 304 Maintenance Access.
323 Substation Gate
The state of this room depends on your Live Selection choice. If you chose to HEAD TO THE EMERGENCY EXIT, then six Zombies will be crowded in here. There's no enemies if you chose to INCREASE ELECTRICITY OUTPUT, and there are two Zombies if you chose to DO NOTHING.
322 Substation Access
Bob and weave past any remaining enemies on your way back to the elevator, or watch out for Nemesis if he appeared after you chose to HEAD TO THE EMERGENCY EXIT in the last Live Selection. If you can K.O. Nemesis, you'll receive the M37 PARTS A if this also is your fourth item case.
OBJECTIVE C: OIL ADDITIVE...............................................[7.4.3]
304 Maintenance Access
Walk down the stairs. If Nemesis is still in pursuit, you'll see his big round shadow on the floor. Once you're past it, he'll drop down and attack. Take the left path and beat feet to the door.
303 Construction Road
If Carlos was at the Gas Station, there will be six Zombies standing around here, and you can snag some GRENADE ROUNDS from a police car after its Zombie occupant busts out to attack you. If it was Nicholai at the Gas Station, there are two Drain Deimoses o
