Learn the strategy for the toughest boss fight in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, the Nemesis Clock Tower Battle, and how to handle Nemesis with or without his rocket launcher.
Walkthrough
- 1If you chose to USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE or DO NOTHING at the start of the fight, Carlos will destroy Nemesis' rocket launcher but be knocked unconscious, leaving Jill to fight Nemesis alone. If you did not, Nemesis will be equipped with a rocket launcher at the start.
- 2Maintain distance between Jill and Nemesis, firing once or twice before evading his attacks.
- 3Freeze Rounds are the preferred ammunition due to their slowdown effect, which provides more time to evade.
- 4If Nemesis has his rocket launcher, he will fire rockets from various ranges. Dodge these by turning perpendicular to his line of fire.
- 5Use objects like lamp posts near the crashed cable car as (cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects)) (temporary protection from attacks) from Nemesis' rockets, though judging firing angles can be difficult.
- 6After Nemesis fires five rockets, he discards the launcher and resorts to melee attacks.
- 7If Carlos destroyed the launcher, Nemesis will use ranged tentacle attacks (horizontal sweep or piercing thrust) at medium range.
- 8When Nemesis is not using his rocket launcher, dodge by running around his right side to avoid his left-handed grab attack.
- 9If Nemesis grabs Jill, mash the face buttons to escape. If Jill is hoisted up twice consecutively before she can get up, she will die.
- 10If Nemesis grabs Jill and begins the purple infection animation with his other hand, mash buttons to escape if Jill's condition is yellow (Caution) or Fine.
- 11Continue attacking Nemesis until he staggers into flames, after which Jill passes out. Carlos will then drag Jill to the Chapel.
Tips
- If Nemesis has his rocket launcher, he cannot grab Jill, but he will use rockets frequently.
- Be aware of Nemesis's left-handed grab attack when he is not using the rocket launcher.
- Monitor Jill's health and status on the (HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap)) (Heads-Up Display, showing game information) to know when to mash buttons to escape grabs or infection.

Tips
- Carlos's rifle is effective against large groups of Zombies and tougher enemies, but be mindful of ammo conservation.
- The SIGPRO SP2009 is a reskinned version of Jill's M92F Custom.
- Use controlled bursts with the rifle to conserve ammo and effectively deal with enemies.
