Walkthrough
- 1Head into the caves and locate the "gigantic relief painting that looks like a happy dragon."
- 2Play the correct tune by pressing X. The way you press X determines the melody. On PS4, hold L2 to emulate a hard press.
- 3Happy (yellow) requires a light, fast press.
- 4Playful (green) requires a light, long press.
- 5Sad (silver) requires a hard, fast press.
- 6Angry (red) requires a hard, long press.
- 7If you play the wrong tune, you will be forced to fight a dragon.
- 8If a door has multiple moods, you must play the tunes in the correct order. Failing means you have to start over, but you do not need to get all the tunes in during a single cycle.
- 9After examining the big door in the central room of the Mountains of Barr, go examine the tubes in the operation room to find the Dragon's Cranium (Unique) (nc). [Scene115] plays when you enter the operation room.
- 10Light all the panels in the central area, then stand on the middle panel to gain access to the lava caves. [Scene116] plays when you approach the lava caves.
- 11In the Urssa Lava Caves, find the Rabbit Ears Key behind the bunny statue.
- 12Examine one of the torches in front of the bunny statue to find the Rabbit Ears Chalice (Unique) (nc).
- 13Vanilla will ask how much you are willing to pay for the Ring of Disintegration (Unique) (nc). Paying 10,000 Fol or 30,000 Fol will result in receiving the Ring of Disintegration and a Gutsy Bunny. Paying 1,000 Fol results in no deal.
- 14In the Airyglyph Aqueducts, blast your way north in the first room to find the Glowstone (Unique, Temp).
- 15Use bombs to get the Anti-Freezing Amulet (pat) from the chest in the room east from the save point, right after the area where Fayt first noticed ice on the floor.
Boss: Robin Wind a
- This boss has 50,000 HP, 1800 MP, 490 ATP, and is weak to Wind elemental attacks (A:I). It yields 6500 XP and 25,350 Fol.
- Aerial Slash is its main concern, used between 50-70% health.
- All its special attacks are Wind-elemental.
Tips
- You can use the Spirit Stone to recruit Misty Lear. She allows the creation of Orichalcum, which can be synthesized to give a weapon the ATP +500 factor. This is not advised unless absolutely necessary, as you can manage without it even on 4D difficulty.
- Most enemies in the Urssa Lava Caves have 320 DFP (256 on Easy) and deal heavy MP damage. IMPD works well.
- Magma Man can heal itself, making an MP kill difficult. Nel's Touga, Scatter Beam, or Pulse Blast (leveled up to Lv4 for increased damage) are effective.
- The Urssa Lava Caves contain Ancient Book 7 (Rabbit Ears Chalice).
- There is one Ancient Book item left, but it is not recommended to pursue it as it requires completing the second optional dungeon before the end of Disc 1, and there is no additional reward for finding all 7 items. The item is Strength Berries (increases Str by 2).
- The Rabbit Ears Chalice can be used to get exact damage Battle Trophies. Equip it and input the Konami code to make the character explode, dealing damage equal to half their current HP. You can also lower your HP by adjusting DFP to take minimal damage from enemies or by using the flying rocks in Kirlsa Caverns.
- The Ring of Disintegration (RoD) allows you to obtain new items in most previous dungeons, though they are often of little importance. Consider only getting Synth Materials and a few other items on Disc 2 when you are nearby. Using a Jewel of Avarice can help find items.
