Learn how to increase your Sun Resistance in V Rising to survive longer in the daytime. Discover consumables, equipment, and powers that offer temporary and permanent buffs.

In V Rising, the sun is a significant threat to vampires. Prolonged exposure during daytime causes damage over time, a mechanic that leads to many early-game deaths. Initially, you'll see sparks and smoke, followed by a sunbeam, before taking damage. To mitigate this, stick to shaded areas provided by trees, rocks, cliffs, and encampments. If caught in the sun, quickly move to shade to reset the damage timer. Increasing your Sun Resistance allows you to stay in the sun for longer periods before taking damage.

Your resistances are displayed on the character screen, to the right of your equipment. At 0 Sun Resistance, you'll begin to burn. With 15 Sun Resistance, you can stay in the sun 22.5% longer before effects start.

There are two primary methods to increase Sun Resistance: using consumables for temporary buffs (up to 20 minutes) and equipping gear with Sun Resistance bonuses. You can also craft items like Minor Sun Resistance Brews in the field via the crafting menu on the Character screen, provided you have the necessary materials.
