V Rising: Where to Get and Craft Scourgestones

As you progress into the Tier II regions of V Rising, such as the Dunley Farmlands, you'll encounter recipes requiring Scourgestones, particularly for Resistance potions. There are two primary ways to acquire them: finding them as drops in specific locations or crafting them yourself, which requires several components.

How to Find Scourgestones

Church of the Damned

The most straightforward method is to visit the Church of the Damned in the northeast of the Dunley Farmlands. As you approach from the south, clear out the patrolling skeletons. Ascend the stairs to face more skeletons and Skeleton Bishops, who can summon additional skeletons. Focus on the Bishops as they drop Grave Dust and have a low chance to yield a Scourgestone. Be aware of the Level 49 Undead Commander Elite Enemy that may wander down; if it aggros you, retreat to fight it alone, as it has a high chance of dropping up to two Scourgestones. Other enemies like Skeleton Bishops and Mages in the church also drop Grave Dust. Loot the chests scattered throughout the area, including up to three regular chests and potentially a Golden Chest, plus two more at the top. However, Leandra the Shadow Priestess, a Level 46 V Blood Carrier, is also present and may make looting chests difficult for solo players. Defeating Leandra is necessary to unlock the Scourgestone crafting recipe.

The Church of the Damned is located northeast of the Dunley Farmlands.

The Cursed Forest

This area offers another, less reliable source. Enemies like the Skeleton Bishop have a low chance to drop Scourgestones. Ancient Villages within the Cursed Forest may also contain Scourgestones in chests, but this region requires a higher character level to survive, especially when playing solo.

Sending Servants on Hunts

Later in the game, after crafting Servant Coffins (requiring Greater Blood Essences) and charming Servants using Dominating Presence, you can build a Castle Throne. Sitting on the throne allows you to send Servants on resource-gathering missions. Equip them well to increase their success rate and send them to the Church of the Damned. Depending on the mission duration and the Servant's Traits, they can bring back a significant amount of Scourgestones.

How to Craft Scourgestones

Crafting Scourgestones is often the most favorable method. First, you must defeat Leandra the Shadow Priestess (Level 46) in the Church of the Damned. This is a challenging fight due to her ability to summon adds, so consider teaming up with other Vampires. Upon defeating her, you'll unlock the Jewelcrafting Table and recipes for the Scourgestone, Scourge Pendant, and Skeleton Priest.

Scourgestones are forged in the Furnace. Having a Forge Room can slightly reduce crafting costs. The recipe for one Scourgestone is:

Each Scourgestone takes approximately 2:30 minutes to craft. It's advisable to start crafting before leaving to explore or logging off for the day.

What are Scourgestones Used For?

Accessories

Scourgestones are crucial for forging the Gear Level 15 accessory, the Scourge Pendant, and its upgrades: the Ruby Pendant, Amethyst Pendant, and Misty Necklace. These upgrades provide substantial bonuses like increased Physical Power and Physical Resistance. The upgraded versions require 8 Scourgestones each, making them a valuable investment.
