Zevran is a charming Antivan Crow who can join your party early in Dragon Age: Origins. He's a bit of a flirt, but can become a loyal companion if you treat him right.

Recruiting and Keeping Zevran

You'll first encounter Zevran during the "Exiled Prince" quest. It's possible to kill him right off the bat, but if you want him in your party, you'll need to spare him. He'll join you with a low approval rating, but don't worry – you can improve it. If his approval gets too low, he might leave you before the Landsmeet, especially if he meets up with his friend Taliesin. You can convince him to stay, but this is a limited opportunity.

Romancing Zevran

Zevran is bisexual and will flirt with you regardless of your character's gender. To start a romance with him, you'll need to engage in flirtatious dialogue and be a little bossy. Throw in some sexual innuendo, and you'll be well on your way to his tent. Things can get even more interesting if you have Isabela in your party – a threesome is possible! If Leliana loves you and is hardened, you might even be able to arrange a foursome. However, be aware that if Zevran falls in love with you, he will refuse to sleep with you.

Zevran's Specialization and Gifts

If Zevran warms up to you, he can teach you the Assassin specialization, which is incredibly useful for any rogue. He also tells some fascinating stories about his life as an assassin, making him a great conversationalist.

To improve Zevran's approval and unlock special conversations, pay attention to his gift preferences. The Antivan Leather Boots and the Dalish Gloves are particularly special, as they trigger unique dialogue and become equippable after you give them to him.
