Walkthrough

    After the second catapult, enter an ice cave. Turn left for the bonus objective or head southwest to continue the main mission.

    Cross the bridge and defeat the engineers.

    Continue and kill the nearby boss, which triggers a cinematic.

    Follow Rurik's instructions and use the gear lever on the lever mechanism. Wait for it to open.

    In the next area, you'll find three similar devices. Kill all enemies in the area first.

    Then, use the lever on all three mechanisms as quickly as possible, prioritizing the furthest one.

    Once all mechanisms are active, survive for one to two minutes as enemies attack. You can backtrack and stand still to wait for the mission to complete.

Bonus:

  1. In the ice cave, Rornak Stonesledge is captured. Talk to him; he will follow you.
  2. Head south out of the ice caves. When you reach a bridge bombarded by catapult fire, head to the northwest ramp leading down.
  3. Follow this path, dealing with dolyak enemies.
  4. Once the area is clear, lead Rornak to the catapult. He will fix it.
  5. Fire the catapult to destroy some doors.
  6. Head back to the bridge and cross it.
  7. Instead of killing everything, kill only nearby enemies and head through the door to the east.
  8. Kill the Ice Golems and Stone Summit.
  9. Open the chest to obtain the secret siege weapon plans.
  10. Return to Rornak with the plans to complete the bonus.
Tips
  • When activating the three mechanisms, it helps to do the furthest one first.
  • Consider backtracking to a safe spot to survive the final wave of enemies.

Yak's Bend Quests:

Yak's Bend offers new armor and a skill trainer, Captain Osric.

  • Helping the Dwarfs: Quest Starter: Grand Mason Stonecleaver. Objective: Find Rangil Ironbow in Traveler's Vale. Reward: 250xp. Skills granted: Elementalist - Gale, Mesmer - Mantra of Frost, Monk - Remove Hex, Necromancer - Suffering, Ranger - Debilitating Shot, Warrior - Protector's Strike. This quest can be difficult; pull groups to avoid being overwhelmed.
  • Oswalt's Epitaph: Quest Starter: Elsa Alston. Objective: Inscribe Elsa's words on an unmarked headstone to summon Oswalt's ghost. Reward: 500xp, 250 gold. Recommended to do with The Missing Artisan.
  • Minaar's Trouble: Quest Starter: Rangil Ironbow. Objective: Find Minaar Stonesledge in Iron Horse Mine and escort him to Traveler's Vale. Reward: 500xp.
  • Minaar's Worry: Quest Starter: Rangil Ironbow. Objective: Kill Ore Darkwhip in Iron Horse Mine and return war machine plans to Rangil. Reward: 500xp. Ore Darkwhip only spawns if the quest is active.
  • Iron Horse War Machine: Quest Starter: Rangil Ironbow. Objective: Destroy the war machine by destroying its nine levers with Dwarven explosives. Reward: 500xp.
