Guild Wars 2 Part 24 covers quests like The Royal Papers and The False Gods, and details strategies for protecting spirits and NPCs.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Speak to the Vizier, then escort him to his resting place.
  2. 2
Locate the spirit on the beach near lightning drakes. Warning: The spirit is level 10 and vulnerable to the drakes. Use the Scepter of Orr to your advantage, dropping it back if a large battle is expected.
  3. 3
After killing the drakes, talk to the spirit. He will follow the Scepter of Orr until you reach Vizier Khilbron.
  4. 4
When you reach Khilbron, the main mission movie will start. After it concludes, talk to Khilbron again.
  5. 5
The spirit will ramble; talk to him again when he finishes. He will now follow the party member who spoke to him.
  6. 6
When you reach the docks area for the main mission, you have three choices for completing both the bonus and the mission:
    • Sneak by the docks without activating the Vizier and run the ghost to his grave. Warning: Upon return, approximately a dozen White Mantle will be present, which can be deadly for Khilbron. This is not recommended without a human healer.
  7. 7
Defend Khilbron while he summons the boat. Once the area is clear, do not get on the boat; instead, run him to his grave. This is a worse choice than the first because the restless spirit is only level ten.
  8. 8
Have the party member the spirit is chasing run him to his resting place while everyone else defends the Vizier. This option does not work with henchmen.
  9. 9
Once the spirit finds his home, you will receive the bonus.

Fisherman's Haven Quests:

The Royal Papers

  1. Quest Starter: Watchman Arad in Fisherman's Haven.
  2. Objective: Retrieve the Royal Scribe's Papers from a chest in a Tengu encampment.
  3. Reward Giver: Watchman Arad.
  4. Reward: 750xp, and a choice of one skill: Elementalist - Fire Attunement, Mesmer - Mantra of Earth, Monk - Scourge Healing, Necromancer - Animate Bone Minions, Ranger - Concussion Shot, or Warrior - Savage Slash.
  5. Difficulty and Comments: This quest does not yet work in large human parties, yielding only one set of papers. It is recommended to use henchmen or have one player get the papers and be zoned back into town, repeating this process until everyone has them.

The Lost Princess

  1. Quest Starter: Watchman Arad in Fisherman's Haven.
  2. Objective: Speak to Salma in the Temple of the Ages.
  3. Reward Giver: Watchman Arad.
  4. Reward: 500xp, and a choice of one skill: Elementalist - Earthquake, Mesmer - Blackout, Monk - Balthazar's Aura, Necromancer - Price of Failure, Ranger - Edge of Extinction, or Warrior - Balanced Stance.
  5. Difficulty and Comments: Arad finds out about this quest after you return the papers for "The Royal Papers," yet both can be activated simultaneously.

Temple of the Ages Quests:

The False Gods

  1. Quest Starter: Brother Mizar in the Temple of the Ages.
  2. Objective: Defeat Abbot Ramoth and take the litanies of the unseen from him. He is located just outside the Temple of the Ages in the Black Curtain.
  3. Reward Giver: Brother Mizar.
  4. Reward: 750xp, and a choice of one skill: Elementalist - Deep Freeze, Mesmer - Mind Wrack, Monk - Blessed Signet, Necromancer - Demonic Flesh, Ranger - Choking Gas, or Warrior - "To The Limit".
  5. Difficulty and Comments: This quest is not overly difficult, but nearby bog skales can swarm you, making the fight challenging. This quest is also not yet multi-human friendly. The Litanies of the Unseen are scripture regarding the hidden gods of the White Mantle.

Crystal Desert Overview:

The Crystal Desert is the most challenging PvE area in Guild Wars 2. Monsters possess a wide variety of spells that can be highly disruptive. The primary goal in the desert is to ascend. This requires completing three missions (Elona Reach, Dunes of Despair, and Thirsty River) in any order, then visiting Great Ritual Priest Zahmut in Augury Rock to accept a challenge to fight yourself. Upon defeating your doppelganger, you will ascend. After ascending, outposts in the desert offer new quests for changing your secondary profession.

The desert introduces a new creature class: wurms. Wurms remain hidden underground until something approaches, at which point they emerge, knocking down nearby foes. They inflict significant damage, and the knockdown can prevent escape. Wurms will continue to burrow and emerge until engaged in melee combat, where they can fight directly.

Missions:

  • Thirsty River
  • Dunes of Despair
  • Elona Reach
  • Doppelganger
  • Dragon's Lair

Amnoon Oasis Quests:

  • Sands of Souls
  • Ancient Secrets

Augury Rock Quests:

  • Into the Unknown
  • Ghostly Vengeance

Seeker's Passage Quests:

  • A Belated Betrothal
  • The Monk's Path
  • The Ranger's Path

Destiny's Gorge Quests:

  • The Forgotten O
Tips
  • When escorting the spirit near lightning drakes, consider dropping the Scepter of Orr back if you anticipate a large battle.
  • For "The Royal Papers," using henchmen or a runner strategy is advised due to limitations with large human parties.
  • The quest "The False Gods" can be challenging due to the presence of bog skales that can overwhelm you.
  • Wurms in the Crystal Desert can be dangerous due to their knockdown ability; be prepared to engage them in melee combat to prevent repeated burrowing and emerging.

Rewards vary per quest and include experience points (xp) and specific skills for each profession.
