Walkthrough
- 1Head right past the number 2 signpost. Hop will be waiting before some tall grass.
- 2Leon will appear and teach you about catching Pokémon if it's your first time. He will skip this if you have already caught Pokémon on Route 1.
- 3After the tutorial, follow Leon and Hop to the right, through the tall grass.
- 4Continue north as the path bends, wading through another patch of tall grass.
- 5Carry on north until the path bends right. You will encounter your first trainer, Youngster Jake.
- 6Youngster Jake has a Level 6 Skwovet (Normal). Use your starter's STAB move (Branch Poke, Ember, or Water Gun) for an easy win.
- 7Continue past Jake into the next patch of tall grass. Follow the top path towards a red signboard.
- 8Pick up the 2 Potions nearby.
- 9Jump over the ledge below and go a few paces right. The path heads north towards a purple-roofed building.
- 10Head right through another patch of tall grass and follow the side path.
- 11Pick up the 3 Poké Balls at the end of the side path.
- 12Jump off the ledge on the left to return to the main path.
- 13Head north and you will encounter Lass Lauren. You can skip her by going through the tall grass on her left.
- 14Lass Lauren has a Level 6 Chewtle (Water). Be careful if you are using Sobble or Scorbunny, as it is a Water-type. It does not have any Water-type moves, so Normal-type moves are effective. A Nuzzle from Yamper can also defeat it.
- 15Continue along the path as it turns right and then north.
- 16You will encounter Youngster Benjamin before a cobblestone bridge.
- 17Youngster Benjamin has a Level 5 Blipbug (Bug) and a Level 7 Nickit (Dark). Ember from Scorbunny is effective against Blipbug. For Nickit, use your starter Pokémon as it is not particularly strong.
- 18You can fish in the area after crossing the bridge. Expect many Magikarp.
- 19Cross the bridge. Professor Magnolia's home is ahead. Hop, Leon, and a third person will be in front of the entrance.
- 20Go left across the court to the lake side. Approach the rippling water near the bench to fish.
- 21After fishing, follow the main path to Professor Magnolia's house.
- 22After a chat, Leon will endorse you for the Gym Challenge if you and Hop show him an amazing battle. He will heal your Pokémon.
- 23Hop will run off outside to wait for you. Explore the professor's house if you wish; Sonia's bedroom is upstairs.
- 24Head south past the front gate to the court. Speak to Hop to begin the battle.
- 25Pokémon Trainer Hop has a Level 6 Wooloo (Normal), a Level 5 Rookidee (Flying), and a Level 8 starter Pokémon (Sobble if you picked Grookey, Grookey if you picked Scorbunny, or Scorbunny if you picked Sobble).
Tips

- 2 Potions
- 3 Poké Balls
