Walkthrough
  1. 1
Gym Trainer Julia: Battle Julia (Tympole, Lv. 21). Press the red switch to manipulate water flow. Push the yellow switch. Press the red switch again to cross gratings.
  2. 2
Gym Trainer Heather: Go up the steps. Avoid the red switch for now. Cross yellow and red gratings to the left. Battle Heather (Krabby Lv. 20, Corphish Lv. 20).
  3. 3
Switch Puzzle 1: After Heather, travel anti-clockwise to the red switch. Push the yellow switch behind Heather. Go south, then east to the second red switch and press it.
  4. 4
Switch Puzzle 2: Return to Heather's area. Go up the steps on the right. Cross the yellow and red gratings. Head west behind the middle yellow grating, then south.
  5. 5
Gym Trainer Lynn: You can battle Lynn (Remoraid Lv. 20, Chewtle Lv. 21) or run past her. Go down the yellow steps.
  6. 6
Switch Puzzle 3: Press the yellow switch first. Then go across the blue grating on the left and press the red switch. Go back to Lynn, then push the blue switch on the right.
  7. 7
Exit to Gym Leader: If switches are pressed correctly (yellow, red, blue in order), head east from Lynn, down side steps, and north to the exit tunnel.
  8. 8
Gym Leader Nessa: Battle Nessa (Goldeen Lv. 22, Arrokuda Lv. 23, Drednaw Lv. 24). Use Grass or Electric-types. Nessa Dynamaxes Drednaw on turn 1; counter with your own Dynamax.
  • Defeating Nessa earns you the Water Badge.
  • You also receive TM36 Whirlpool and a Water Uniform.
  • After the battle, Oleana gives you Rose’s League Card.
  • Sonia gives you TM79 Retaliate inside the restaurant.
Tips
  • Grass and Electric-type Pokémon are effective against Nessa's Water-types.
  • For Nessa's Drednaw, a Grass-type is ideal as it resists Water-type attacks and deals 4x damage.
  • Be mindful of the order in which you press the switches to navigate the gratings.
