Big Trouble in Little Galar (Part 1)

You will begin with a Max Raid Battle against a Level ??? Grass-type Tsareena. You will team up with Hop’s starter, Piers’s Obstagoon, and Milo’s Flapple (Sword) or Appletun (Shield). Fire, Flying, Bug, or Poison-type Pokémon are recommended. Eternatus is also a good option due to its Poison moves and Dynamax Cannon.

You cannot catch Tsareena after this battle. A strong Tsareena can usually be found in the Stony Wilderness in the Wild Area. You will receive Milo’s Rare League Card as a reward.

After the battle, exit the stadium. Sonia will inform you of Power Spot readings at Hulbury Stadium and Motostoke Stadium. You must head to both, but you can choose the order. The guide will proceed to Hulbury Stadium first.

At Hulbury Stadium, Nessa will ask for your help against a Dynamaxed Pokémon.

Engage in a Max Raid Battle against a Level ??? Water/Flying-type Gyarados. You will team up with Hop’s starter, Piers’s Obstagoon, and Nessa’s Drednaw. Electric-types are recommended to counter Gyarados’s Intimidate ability, which lowers your party’s Attack. Dynamaxing an Electric-type will lead to an easy win.

After protecting Hulbury Stadium, you will receive Nessa’s Rare League Card. Head to Motostoke Stadium next (if you haven't already).

Upon entering Motostoke Stadium, Kabu will be present. You will face another Dynamaxed Pokémon.

Participate in a Max Raid Battle against a Level ??? Fire-type Torkoal. You will team up with Hop’s starter, Piers’s Obstagoon, and Kabu’s Centiskorch. Torkoal’s Drought ability will make it sunny, boosting Fire-type moves and weakening Water-type moves. Dynamax immediately and use moves like Max Geyser or Max Rockfall to deal super-effective damage and change the weather.

After securing Motostoke Stadium, you will receive Kabu’s Rare League Card.

If you have cleared both stadiums, Sonia will call you for assistance. Leave the current stadium and travel to Sonia’s lab in Wedgehurst.

Inside Sonia’s lab, you will confront Pokémon Trainers Sordward and Shielbert in a Multi Battle, teaming up with Hop. Sordward’s team includes Golisopod (Bug/Water), Doublade (Steel/Ghost), and Bisharp (Dark/Steel). Shielbert’s team includes Bronzong (Steel/Psychic), Falinks (Fighting), and Klinklang (Steel). All are Level 62.

Initially, you will face Golisopod and Bronzong. Golisopod is the primary damage dealer. Flying-types are recommended to avoid its First Impression move. Electric-types are effective against Bronzong. Golisopod will switch out if its HP drops below 50% without fainting.

Bronzong uses Light Screen to protect against special moves and Hypnosis to induce sleep. Ghost-types are best against Bronzong. Fire and Dark-types are weak to Golisopod’s STAB moves.

If Sordward sends out Doublade, use a Ghost-type (effective against Bronzong) or a Fire-type. Dark-types are also an option. Doublade does not use Swords Dance this time but can use Sacred Sword, which is effective against Normal and Dark-types.

If Sordward sends out Bisharp, switch your Ghost-type for a Fighting-type, unless Bronzong is still active. Fire and Ground-types are also effective. Fighting-types are particularly strong against Bisharp.

If Shielbert sends out Falinks, Flying-types are ideal. Avoid Psychic-types as Falinks can use First Impression and Megahorn. Fairy-types are good but may be less effective against the numerous Steel-types.

If Shielbert sends out Klinklang, switch to a Fire, Ground, or Fighting-type. Fire and Ground are also effective against Doublade, and all three types are strong against Bisharp. Be aware of Protect, which is useful in Double/Multi Battles.

After defeating Sordward and Shielbert, you will realize it was a trap. Exit the lab.
