Guide to finding the Legendary Galarian Birds in Pokémon Sword and Shield's Crown Tundra DLC. Learn where Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are located and how to start the quest.
Alright, so you've made your way to Ballimere Lake in the Crown Tundra. It's pretty wild out here, right? You might even feel like you've stumbled into some kind of Pokémon Jurassic Park with that Tyrantrum chilling around. Anyway, your main goal is that massive tree you can see in the distance. You'll want to head towards it. Just ease forward a bit, then hang a left and follow the dirt path for a little bit. Keep your eyes peeled for a slope heading downhill on your right, not too far before you hit a cave entrance.
Go down that slope and stick to the path in front of you. If you're trying to dodge the tall grass, you can always go around the right side. A bit further on, you'll spot another cave entrance off to your left. For now though, just take a right when you get the chance. Then, follow the straight path that leads you right up to Dyna Tree Hill.
As soon as you enter this area, a cutscene is going to kick off. You'll get to see the Galarian versions of the Legendary bird trio – pretty cool! Once they spot you, they'll all zip off in different directions. After that little show, you'll get a call from Peony, who officially kicks off this quest for you. Your Legendary Clue 3 will get updated, letting you know that Galarian Articuno is somewhere in the Crown Tundra, Galarian Moltres is off on the Isle of Armor, and Galarian Zapdos is just living its best life back in the Wild Area from the base game. So yeah, your mission is to track down and catch all three of these legendary birds.
While you're hanging out at Dyna Tree Hill, feel free to explore around the giant tree. If you check out the back of it, you can snag a TR66 Brave Bird. Also, don't be shy about giving that massive tree a good shake – or a few! You never know, something cool might just happen. Just make sure your Pokémon are ready for a fight!
