Defeat and catch Zacian or Zamazenta in pokemon sword and shield. Learn their weaknesses and recommended Pokémon types for the final legendary battles.
Walkthrough
- 1First, you must battle either Trainer Sordward (in Pokémon Sword) or Trainer Shielbert (in Pokémon Shield). Sordward's team consists of a Level 64 Sirfetch’d (Fighting), Level 64 Golisopod (Bug/Water), Level 64 Doublade (Steel/Ghost), and Level 64 Bisharp (Dark/Steel). Shielbert's team consists of a Level 64 Sirfetch’d (Fighting), Level 64 Bronzong (Steel/Psychic), Level 64 Falinks (Fighting), and Level 64 Klinklang (Steel). Unlike the battle against Rose, you cannot Dynamax or Gigantamax in these fights.
- 2After defeating the trainer, take the elevator to the tower summit to confront the berserk Legendary Pokémon.
- 3In Pokémon Sword, you will fight Level 70 Zamazenta (Fighting) in its weaker non-Crowned form. It can use Iron Defence to boost its Defence, and attacks like Play Rough, Iron Head, and Crunch. Special attackers are recommended to bypass its Defence boosts.
- 4In Pokémon Shield, you will fight Level 70 Zacian (Fairy) in its weaker non-Crowned form. It can use Swords Dance to boost its Attack, and attacks like Iron Head, Crunch, and Sacred Sword. Steel or Poison-types are recommended.
- 5After defeating the berserk Legendary Pokémon, it will flee. Hop will retrieve the rusted weapon.
- 6Next, you will have the opportunity to catch the other Legendary Pokémon. Interact with it when ready.
- 7In Pokémon Sword, you will attempt to catch Level 70 Zacian (Fairy/Steel) in its powered-up Crowned form. It has high Attack and Speed, and can use Swords Dance, Sacred Sword, Crunch, or Behemoth Blade. Consider using paralysis or burn status effects, or Pokémon with Intimidate. Fire, Water, or Electric-types are recommended as they resist Steel.
- 8In Pokémon Shield, you will attempt to catch Level 70 Zamazenta (Fighting/Steel) in its powered-up Crowned form. It has high Defence and Special Defence, with respectable Attack and Speed. It can use Iron Defence, Slash, Crunch, or Behemoth Bash. Fire, Water, or Electric-types are recommended as they resist Steel.
- 9The Master Ball can be used for a guaranteed capture if desired.
- 10After successfully catching the Legendary Pokémon, make your way to the Slumbering Weald to find the other Legendary Pokémon. You may want to heal your Pokémon at a Pokémon Centre or by speaking to your Mum at Postwick beforehand.
