Your Pokemon Sword and Shield adventure in the Crown Tundra begins! Get ready to explore, catch new Pokemon, and face off against the legendary Peony. Let's go!

Alright, welcome to the Crown Tundra! When you first arrive at the Crown Tundra Station, a scientist will upgrade your Pokédex to the Crown Tundra version. This means you'll be able to track all 210 native Pokémon here, including about 100 that are new to Sword and Shield. Before you head out, make sure to grab some supplies like Poké Balls and Potions from the vendor at the kiosk. You'll be doing a lot of running around and catching Legendaries, so you don't want to run out of items at a bad time!

Once you step outside, you'll see the beautiful snowy landscape. You'll soon be interrupted by some loud voices. Go check it out – you need to approach the two people standing by a gap in the fence to proceed. They'll ask for your help, and you'll end up in a Pokémon battle.

Pokémon Trainer Peony

This is the only trainer battle you'll have in the Crown Tundra, and it can be tough depending on your level. Don't worry too much about winning or losing, though!

Peony's first Pokémon is Copperajah, a Steel-type. It's weak against Fire, Ground, and Fighting moves. Just be careful with Fire-types because Copperajah knows High Horsepower.

His last Pokémon is Aggron. This one has a double weakness to Ground and Fighting, so those are your best bets. Water moves are also effective. Watch out for its Sturdy ability, which can prevent it from being knocked out in one hit.

After the battle, Peony will rush off towards the Max Lair to find his daughter. You can follow him to unlock Dynamax Adventures and continue the story, or you can explore the Crown Tundra first. We really recommend following him!

From the station entrance, head through the tall grass in the middle. There's a Max Raid den to its left. Keep going towards the pine trees and another patch of tall grass down a small slope. There's another Max Raid den to its left. As you get closer, the camera will focus on Peony in front of the Max Lair.

When you regain control, keep moving forward towards the glowing pillars on the left. Then, head into the cave between those pillars – that's the entrance to the Max Lair.
