After the annoying Act 2 of Carnival Night, Icecap compensates with a short scene at the start and great music throughout the level. Obstacles include ice blasters, ice blocks, ice pillars, spring boards, stalactites, and swing lifts.

Walkthrough

    Start by going right and dropping down. Spin Dash through the wall and continue onward.

    Go past the Starpost and jump on the spring. Head right and break the ice surrounding the switch. Press the switch to cause the ledge to collapse. Drop down and run past the ice blasters.

    Slide down the slopes, and jump onto the platform to the left. Use the platform to break through the walls. As Knuckles, you can break through them if you're having trouble jumping onto the platform, due to his low jump. Smash the ice surrounding the springs and jump up them.

    When you come across a few Penguinators and a Star Pointer, break through the wall to the right.

    This part of the level is tough to get through. You must glide back and forth to reach the bottom. Since there are frozen spikes everywhere, it can be difficult to avoid them, but there is a Lightning Shield nearby. If you can grab it and drop down, you'll probably lose your Shield, but you won't have lost any Rings.

    When you land, break through the walls and slide down the slope. Hop across the stalactites one by one to avoid being hit by them and knocked into the frozen spikes.

    When you come across an ice blaster, go past it and head across the bridge. Smash the frozen switch and press it. Drop down and go past the Starpost.
