Time Attack mode in Sonic & Knuckles is designed for practicing your skills, particularly for the two-player zones. Unlike Grand Prix and Match Race modes, only one player can participate in Time Attack. You have the freedom to choose any of the available zones to race in.
The game automatically saves your Best Times for each zone. Additionally, the character you select when achieving a Best Time is also recorded. When you have accumulated 3 Best Times in a zone, and you achieve a new, better time, your lowest recorded time will be erased to make space for the higher one.
Characters:
When you play the 3 modes within Sonic & Knuckles, you can choose from three characters: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. You can switch between these characters by pressing the Left and Right buttons on your controller.
