Complete walkthrough for the Gate of Faded Glories quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Learn how to find the quest, defeat Entarus the Rekindled, and claim your rewards.
Walkthrough
- 1Unlock the quest by completing Lace Harding’s companion quest, An Unfamiliar Sense, after finishing one of the Sea of Blood or The Smuggling Case main quests and returning to The Lighthouse.
- 2Return to the Crossroads and take the boat to Beacon Island, then proceed to Elvhenan’s Haven.
- 3Head north, defeat the Antaam, and at a fork, go left.
- 4Grab a nearby crystal and place it on a pedestal to create a bridge to the west.
- 5Defeat the enemies on the other side and go down the stairs to the northwest to reach an open area.
- 6Approach the gate in the northeast to unlock the Gate of Faded Glories. Your journal will indicate you cannot reach the Champion yet.
- 7Progress through the Main Quest until you complete A Warden’s Best Friend, which adds Davrin to the Veilguard.
- 8Return to The Lighthouse a few times to unlock Davrin’s companion quest, How to Train a Griffon, which opens a new area in Arlathan Forest.
- 9After completing Davrin's quest, return to the Beacon in the Tainted Woods section of Arlathan Forest (northeast).
- 10The southwest path will be blocked by Blight Boils. Go towards the ladder back and find a stone platform you can raise. This will clear the first Blight Boil and allow access to the area beyond.
- 11Enter the enclosed pit filled with Darkspawn and the Blight Cyst housing the Champion.
- 12Prioritize defeating the other Darkspawn and Blight Boils before attacking the Cyst.
- 13Break the Cyst to confront Entarus the Rekindled.
Tips
- Clearing the arena of Blight Boils and Darkspawn before fighting Entarus the Rekindled significantly reduces the battle's difficulty.
- Pay close attention to your surroundings to avoid Entarus's attacks, especially when he is at half health.
- Be prepared to dodge roll away from Entarus's Arcane Missiles.
- Use side dodges to make Entarus charge into walls, creating an opening to attack him from behind.
- Back away from Entarus's Stomp attack when you see the indicator to avoid the large area-of-effect damage.
- Utilize Primers and Detonations, such as the Weakening combo between Bellara and Davrin, to gain an advantage.
- Entarus the Rekindled (Level 25)
