Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for the 'Something Wicked' side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Learn how to defeat darkspawn, find sentries, and secure Lavendel.
Walkthrough
- 1After completing the Fire and Ice quest, Antoine will ask for your help. If you miss this, it will come up again later in The Lighthouse. Fast travel to the Hossberg Wetlands and speak with Evka and Antoine to begin.
- 2You need to speak with three Warden sentries guarding the routes into Lavendel. One is south near the Blighted Tunnel, one is southwest near the Sheltered Glade, and one is east near the Lavendel Barricade overlooking the Flooded Farmlands.
- 3After speaking with the sentries, return to Evka, who is on the stairs leading to Grey Hold.
- 4Venture southwest to the Sheltered Glade. You will encounter two Hurlocks, two Spikers, and numerous Ghouls. After defeating them, two more Hurlocks and an Emissary will arrive. The Emissary uses blight branches and inflicts weakness. Use strong attacks to interrupt its abilities.
- 5After the Sheltered Glade, you have a choice: check the caves to the south or head to the farmlands. The caves do not require your attention.
- 6Head east to the Flooded Farmlands. Here you will face Hurlocks, Blighters, and Ghouls. Defeat the four larger darkspawn (Hurlocks and Blighters) to trigger a reinforcement wave.
- 7If you can reach the ballista overlooking the farmlands, use it to target the arriving reinforcements, prioritizing the Blighters.
- 8A cutscene will interrupt, showing Antoine struggling with a new form of blight. This leads into the quest 'Something’s Coming'.
- 9Endure more dialogue to complete the quest.
Tips
- The Emissary's blight branches have AoE indicators on the ground, showing where to dodge.
- Big attacks can stagger the Emissary, interrupting its blight branch attacks.
- The ballista at the Flooded Farmlands is crucial for efficiently dealing with reinforcements.
