Learn how to unlock the 'Bringing Down the Sky' trophy in Dragon Age: The Veilguard by defeating the four specific High Dragons required for this achievement. Full locations and tips included.

Alright, let's talk about the 'Bringing Down the Sky' trophy in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. To snag this one, you'll need to take down four specific High Dragons. While there are other High Dragons out there, only these four count towards the achievement. Three of them are tied to Taash's companion questline, which makes sense given their background, and the fourth is part of another challenging side quest.

Here are the dragons you need to hunt:

  • The Formless One
  • Fangscorcher
  • Kataranda the Stormrider
  • Kaltenzahn

The Formless One

This is technically the earliest High Dragon you can tackle, but don't be surprised if it's a bit tough when you first encounter it. You'll need to grab the 'Pinnacle of its Kind' quest in the Necropolis Halls. This quest becomes available in Act 1 once you unlock the region. It'll send you to Dock Town, Arlathan Forest, and the Hossberg Wetlands to defeat different versions of The Formless One. After you've dealt with those, head back to the Necropolis Halls to face the dragon in its true form. This is a Level 40 dragon with some tricky attacks, but thankfully, the arena is pretty spacious. After the fight, make sure to grab the A Second Circle Memento from a side room if you're aiming for the secret ending.

Tip: When The Formless One retreats, it unleashes a big burst attack, so be sure to keep your distance.

Fangscorcher

This is the first of three High Dragons you'll fight as part of Taash's companion questline in Act 2. You'll need to accept the Slaying the Fangscorcher quest, which pops up after the 'Fire and Ice' main quest, around the middle of Act 2. With Taash and another companion, you'll head into a new area of Arlathan Forest called the Deep Woods to hunt the dragon. This fight also takes place in a large arena. Unlike The Formless One, Fangscorcher doesn't call in reinforcements. Instead, when it reaches certain health points, it'll retreat to the back of the arena and unleash fire attacks from the sky and long fiery beams that are fairly easy to dodge.

Tip: Fangscorcher shoots fireballs when it retreats, and it also rains them down from the sky.

Kataranda the Stormrider

Continuing with Taash's companion quests, the next dragon is Kataranda the Stormrider. You can start this quest by checking a letter in Taash's quarters in The Lighthouse, which will direct you to The Hall of Valor. You might remember a similar Electric High Dragon from earlier in the game when the Antaam were trying to capture it in Rivain. This Electric-type dragon shouldn't be too much of a problem, but you'll need to be mindful of your surroundings. Since you're fighting on a beach with water all around, Kataranda will use it to its advantage when it retreats by electrifying it. So, watch where you're standing to dodge its attacks.

Tip: Kataranda is an Electrical High Dragon, and it will electrify the water around you when it retreats.

Kaltenzahn

This is the final High Dragon you need for the 'Bringing Down the Sky' trophy and the conclusion of Taash's companion questline. You'll pick up the Lair of the Dragon King quest in The Lighthouse, which leads you to a special area in Rivain: the Sharksmouth Caves. While this is the toughest of the three dragons in Taash's questline, it's actually not as difficult as The Formless One. Don't let the environment fool you; Kaltenzahn is weak to Ice, so bringing a companion like Neve along would be a smart move. The biggest challenge here is the fog Kaltenzahn can conjure, making it hard to see what's happening.

Tip: Kaltenzahn is weak to Ice, and its fog can make visibility difficult.

There you have it! You now know which four High Dragons you need to defeat for the 'Bringing Down the Sky' trophy and where to find them. If you need more detailed help with any of these fights, check out the linked quest guides.
