The Last Gambit

Starting The Last Gambit: This quest follows 'The Dragon and the Dreadwolf'. After preparing at The Lighthouse, interact with the table to make crucial choices that impact character fates and your battle party. It's recommended to make a separate save before this point.

Choices: The Last Gambit: At the beginning of the quest, you'll have a meeting where Rook presents a plan for the raid on Minrathous. There are three major choices:

• Who Should Protect the Veil Jumpers?

Who Should Kill the Venatori Mage?

Who Should Fight the Construct?

Recover the Lyrium Dagger: After your choices are made, you'll control Rook and two other characters. Your objective is to track down Solas and retrieve the Lyrium Dagger. Navigate through Minrathous, fighting Darkspawn and Venatori. In a courtyard, you'll encounter an Alpha Emissary (weak to Fire, has a large Barrier). After defeating the enemies, burst the Boil and proceed. You'll then move through Hightown Markets, potentially skipping some Venatori if you are a high level. Continue forward until you encounter Solas.

Keep Pushing Forward: After a confrontation with Solas, you'll accompany him as he seeks a way to stop Elgar'nan. Solas will assist in the upcoming battles against stronger Darkspawn. Check the southern corner of Thalsian Court for a weapon chest. Continue along the path, dealing with increased enemy presence. Most enemies can be skipped for XP, but you must clear a group at Urthemiel Approach. After defeating them, burst a large Blight Boil and proceed.

Defeat Elgar’nan’s Wrath: Solas departs, giving you the Lyrium Dagger and taking the form of the Dread Wolf to confront the Archdemon. You will find the companion who was taken earlier (Bellara or Neve) and must free them from Elgar’nan's influence. Deal with the attacking Darkspawn, then slide down the slope to trigger a scene. You will then need to forcefully extract Bellara or Neve from Elgar'nan's influence. Elgar’nan's Wrath is a Blight-twisted construct.
