Alright, let's tackle The Heart of Corruption quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Something nasty is feeding the Blight in the Crossroads, and it's up to Rook to put a stop to it. Don't worry, I'll walk you through it!

Acquisition

You can pick up this quest in a couple of ways. Either head over to Beacon Island in the Crossroads and interact with the Thrice-Sealed Gate, or you might stumble upon one of the revenants scattered around the Crossroads. Either way, you're in for a fight.

Walkthrough

The main goal here is to clear out the blight plaguing the Crossroads. To do that, you'll need to take down three powerful revenants and collect their essences to seal the source of corruption.

Clear the blight from Beacon Island

You'll need to complete three prerequisite quests to access each revenant:

• Gate of Deep Sorrows
• Gate of Parched Hopes
• Gate of Pale Reflections

Defeat the Betrayal of Felassan in the Converged City

After completing Gate of Deep Sorrows, you'll enter a chamber filled with Rathera Loyalists. Clear them out, and then prepare to face the Betrayal of Felassan. This revenant is weak to Necrotic damage. Keep an eye out, because it'll summon waves of undead to help it. At 75% and 40% health, it'll try to retreat and regenerate. You need to hit it hard before it finishes to prevent a nasty area-of-effect attack. If you manage to break its barrier before the timer is up, it won't regenerate and will rejoin the fight weakened.

Once it's down, grab the Revenant Essence and loot the chest for a unique amulet, The Burden. You can then take the essence to the Thrice-Sealed Gate.

Defeat the Slaughter of the Pillars in Elvhenan's Haven

Once you've finished Gate of Parched Hopes, you'll find yourself in a clearing. You'll need to deal with a couple of Superior Undead Mages first. Then, the Slaughter of the Pillars will appear. Like the last one, this revenant is vulnerable to Necrotic damage and will summon undead allies. It also has the same retreat-and-regenerate mechanic at 75% and 40% health. Focus your attacks to stop it from healing and unleashing that AOE.

After the fight, collect the Revenant Essence and check the nearby chest for a unique ring, Andraste's Will. Place the essence on the Thrice-Sealed Gate.

Defeat the Fall of the Protector in the Heights of Athim

Completing Gate of Pale Reflections will lead you to another clearing. This time, you'll have to deal with a Horde of Undead that rises up before you can even get to the main event. Once they're dealt with, you'll face the Fall of the Protector.
