The Dread Wolf Rises Choices

Reaching The Dread Wolf Rises: This quest follows 'Isle of the Gods' and 'The Last Gambit'. Before climbing to face Elgar’nan, you can have a final chat with companions. If you completed 'The Heart of Corruption' and 'Regrets of the Dread Wolf', Morrigan will give you The Ultimate Salvation of Felassan Rune.

Choice: Who Should Stay Back to Defend the Divine Manor? You must choose one companion to stay behind. Bellara or Neve (chosen in 'Isle of the Gods') will refuse to stay. Consider who has 'Hero of the Veilguard' status and relevant combat experience (avoid Mages and Harding). Davrin, Taash, or Lucanis are the primary options. Taash is recommended if she has 'Hero of the Veilguard' status and your Allied Strength with other factions is at least 2 Stars, ensuring her survival and potentially unlocking the 'Ones That Last' Achievement/Trophy if all companions survive.

Choice: Final Solas Encounter: After defeating Elgar’nan, you must decide Solas's fate. The available choices depend on your previous actions:

• Let’s try this your way: Follow your pre-quest plan to trick Solas into becoming the anchor for the Fade using the Lucium Daggers. This is generally considered a good ending.

But I want to fight you: Force Solas back into the Veil via a cinematic cutscene, trapping him. This is often seen as the bad ending, especially if you had a good relationship with him.

You don’t have to do this: This special choice is available only if you completed 'Regrets of the Dread Wolf' and obtained Mythal’s Essence. It's considered the best ending for Solas, especially if you previously chose to 'Save him from himself' during the Inquisition choice, showing deep care for him.

Ending: Regardless of your choice with Solas, the world is saved. Watch the ending sequences. If you found all three Mysterious Circles, a special post-credits scene hints at the future of Dragon Age.
