This guide details the locations of all 18 Ego Boosts in Duke Nukem Forever. These boosts are found throughout the game and contribute to Duke's overall Ego meter.

1. Ego Boost 1: After exiting the elevator, smash the wooden crate blocking a hole in the fence.
2. Ego Boost 2: Use the Particle Expander to become big again, open the double doors, and walk through.
3. Ego Boost 3: Jump onto the broken forklift, then onto the machine to find an EDF crate containing a Holoduke.
4. Ego Boost 4: After finding the Holoduke, jump off and walk up the stairs. To your right is another EDF crate with two Pipe Bombs.
5. Ego Boost 5: Enter the control room. A Ripper weapon is available, along with a glowing switch and a magazine on a shelf by the door.
6. Ego Boost 6: Head back to the roller door, open it using the control bar, and climb the ladder to your left.
7. Ego Boost 7: Navigate the electrical display by timing the gaps in the bolts.
8. Ego Boost 8: Proceed to the next ladder.
9. Ego Boost 9: Smash the crate or move the barrel to jump through the fence. Two Octabrains will appear. Use the Freeze Ray or Ripper to defeat them.
10. Ego Boost 10: After defeating the Octabrains, smash the crates to move on.
11. Ego Boost 11: Walk along the dam edge.
12. Ego Boost 12: A Railgun is located by itself. Use it to engage three Pigcops (two Shotgun, one Ripper) emerging from the roller door.
13. Ego Boost 13: After dealing with the Pigcops, six Octabrains will emerge from the water/building. Use the Freeze Ray or other weapons to defeat them.
14. Ego Boost 14: When the last Octabrain falls, the Octaking will emerge from the water.
15. Octaking (First Time) - Boss Battle:
    • Health: 1776
    • Difficulty: 2/5
    • Effective Weapons: Turret
    • Attacks: Psionic Blast, Throwing Objects
    • Strategy: Use the turret to damage the Octaking. Dodge its Psionic Blasts and thrown objects. Retreat to the tentacle on the far right to regain Ego if necessary. Repeat until defeated.
