Advantages:

• 5x Scope for precision hits

Drawbacks:

• Considerable cooldown between shots
• Most enemies in DiG difficulty require more than one hit to kill
• No headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill) capability
• Only 12 shots, limiting their potential to be carried through the campaign

Campaign:

• These weapons do not appear often, so unless you are near an EDF Ammo Crate, do not get too comfortable with carrying one.
• With a limit of 12 shots and most enemies in DiG difficulty requiring (at least) two shots to kill, it will not last long in combat.
• This weapon does not have a headshot capability, so aim for the body when firing this weapon (Firing at the head adds an amusing cosmetic effect to their death, but does nothing to change how much damage it does).

Multiplayer:

• The Railgun is an excellent one-hit kill weapon, assuming the ping rate (network connection quality) in the game is not atrocious. Players under the influence of Steroids and/or Beer will be able to survive a shot.
