Navigate east to a T-intersection, go south past a bend, take the first left to another T-intersection, then go right, left, left, and right. Alternatively, use the shortcut over the north-south road west of the gas station. Proceed south to the southeast corner of Downtown, pass the left side of a small building, and go downhill to a stairway landing.

Use the sniper rifle to view the padlock from the closest stairway landing. Aim for the middle of the reticle's waggle, as it moves up and down slightly more than the padlock's height. For a closer shot with the Magnum, go down to the beach.

If you wish to save a vehicle like the Manta Prototype, drive it and then the HotRod to your backyard lot, which is about a block away, and save the game.

Task: Shoot Nine Gangsters in a Lot and Two Alleys unlocks the Black Dragon 4WD. The task giver is located southwest of the "W" in "WORKS QUARTER" on the map (Tab), near two light gray doors in front of the back lot where the Lassiter V16 Phaeton can be found in "Freeride."

Enter the back lot and alleys to eliminate nine hoodlums: six with machine guns on second-floor balconies and three on the ground with shotguns.

The first four gangsters are on balconies around the back lot ahead. Use the end of the fence behind the task giver as (cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects)) to shoot the closest gangster on the balcony ahead. Move slightly left to shoot the gangster farther back and to the right of the first.

Enter the back lot and use the left side of the nearby duplex on the right as (cover) to shoot the two gangsters with machine guns on the far right balcony.

Pick up the Thompson 1928 from the ground ahead, equip it, and proceed through the alley.

At the T-intersection of alleys, there is a gangster on the far balcony on either side; the one on the right is closer. You can go under the right balcony to shoot the gangster on the left, then move left along the far left wall to shoot the one on the right. Be aware that enemy positions can vary; one might appear on the ground at the T-intersection.

Continue through the alley on the left. As you approach a bend to the right, three gangsters with Pump-action shotguns will advance toward you. Shoot them immediately while they are at a distance and back up to engage them as they round the bend.

The Black Dragon 4WD is located by the exit of the alley.

Task: Chase the Flying Saucer--Timed unlocks the Mutagen FWD. The task giver is on the west dead end of the T-intersection north of the "U" in "WORKS QUARTER" on the map (Tab).

Drive toward an alien who appears at the east dead end and is beamed up into a flying saucer-type UFO. You must then tail the alien's UFO.

This mission is (timed) with a generous 15-minute window. The UFO pauses frequently, allowing you to catch up. It is not necessary to rush or use a (free roam (the open-world mode where you move and play without an active mission)) reward car, as you can retrieve both vehicles later.

Each time you drive close to the area beneath the UFO's location, it relocates, sometimes out of view. If you have not memorized the route, use mouse aim (LMB) in a vehicle to confirm the UFO's direction.

The UFO's location can be identified by its sound, which resembles submarine sonar.

Accept the mission at the west end of the T-intersection. Drive to the east end, where a UFO rises from behind a red gate and beams up an alien from the front of the gate. Follow the UFO:

Left, left, left to the T-intersection, right, left, proceed most of the way to the next intersection, and turn left into an alley that bends 90 degrees to the right.

Go right onto the street, left, left, right, right, and continue through the Giuliano Street Tunnel.

Proceed south through the Y-intersection and turn left at the third left south of the Y's base, then go to the traffic light at the end of the road.

From the traffic light, you can either turn left then quickly turn right to go east to the T-intersection at the coast, where the flying saucer heads due east over the river. Turn right, go right, and proceed through the winding alley under the East Marshall Bridge to its west end. Make a hairpin turn to the left to get onto the bridge and continue.

Reward: Black Dragon 4WD (from shooting gangsters), Mutagen FWD (from chasing flying saucer).
