BOSS ENCOUNTER: HATTORI HANZO

Hattori Hanzo has several attacks. You are given three elixirs and helpful items like Poison Shurikens, Gallnut Broth, and Makibishi. Use the broth to poison your weapon before the fight and start with shurikens. Try to poison Hanzo before engaging in melee.

Hanzo uses many projectile attacks. Close in while ready to dodge left or right. You can combo him and outdamage him with physical attacks. His sword combo is easy to dodge to the side, leaving him open for counter-attacks. He can flip out of danger after his combo, so you may need to chase him.

BOSS MOVES:

  • Sword Combo: Fast 4-5 hit combo. Dodge to the side to counter-attack. Hanzo can flip out of danger afterward.
  • Poison Shurikens: Quick projectiles. Constantly moving to the side or dodging can avoid them. Guarding is also an option. They cause little damage but can poison.
  • Makibishi: Spiked traps that slow you if walked into. Avoid them.
  • Gallnut Broth: Hanzo uses this to poison his weapons. Be wary of getting hit while it's active.
  • Fire Bomb: Explodes on impact. Dodge left or right to avoid painful fire damage.
  • Poison Bomb: Spreads a poison cloud upon landing. Stay clear of the area.
