Learn how to defeat Fake Tachibana Muneshige in Nioh 3 during The Spirit Stone Slumbers mission. Use pillars for cover.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
This "Fake" Tachibana Muneshige serves as a test of your dueling skills.
  2. 2
He has limited range on all his attacks and must manage his Ki (stamina).
  3. 3
Make him attack and counter, forcing him to expend his Ki.
  4. 4
Use your own grapple attacks and finishing blows when he is vulnerable.
  5. 5
Dodge away and heal up whenever necessary.
  6. 6
Use the two pillars in the room for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) when you need a breather or to heal.
  7. 7
Consider this a harder, longer Revenant fight.
Tips
  • Investing in Ninjutsu/Onmyo skills like Power Pills, elemental abilities, or magics like Lifeseal, Devigorate, or Weakness talismans can be very effective.
  • The Lifeseal Talisman is especially useful, allowing for many Grapple / Finishing Move attacks.
  • Fake Tachibana can be quick and uses combos, ranged attacks, and stat buffing.
  • If you have fought Revenants throughout Nioh 3, this fight should feel familiar.
  • He really is nothing special; treat him like any other Revenant fight.

BOSS MOVES:

- Sword Combos: Tachibana's basic sword (katana) combo attacks. These include standard high, mid, and low attacks, a two-hit swirling attack, and the "Swallow's Wing" attack.

- Nue's Moveset (from previous encounter):

  • Twirl Attack: Nue quickly twirls around his entire body, hitting if you are too close. Predict this by seeing him move his butt back slightly. Use a "get in, get out" attack approach.
  • Lightning Breath: Nue stays in place and breathes a stream of lightning with moderate range. You can dodge THROUGH it by dodging to the right just as it's about to hit, using your invincibility frames (frames of invulnerability during a dodge). Doing this up close allows for easy hits afterwards.
  • Snake Bite Flail: Features Nue's snake tail, mostly used when you are directly behind him. It consists of the snake flailing about with biting attacks. The tail can move to the sides. This is a weak and rare attack.
  • Poison Mist: When close, the snake head rears up and spews poison in a cone. Quickly get out of the way of the poison cloud. The mist disappears quickly.
  • Charge Attack: Comes in two forms: a regular charge and a flop. The flop attack is desirable; run to Nue's belly and attack when it happens. The regular charge has Nue rolling straight ahead. If charged with lightning, he leaves lightning in his wake. Run to the side to avoid it. Getting near his stopping point allows for a few quick hits to his side.
