Walkthrough

When the fight begins, two Flan enemies will spawn. Quickly apply fire damage to your weapon and use "Rejuvenate" if available, then defeat the Flans.

Focus on Umi-Bozu's "Slam" move. You can dash twice to the side to avoid it.

When Umi-Bozu uses "Slam", his squishy core is exposed, allowing for maximum damage. Fire damage on your weapon is even more effective.

After breaking off body parts, Umi-Bozu will use the "Flop Attack". Get behind him or keep away to avoid damage, or block if you have enough Ki.

In the second phase, Umi-Bozu will be on the dock with you. Guard against his fast "Tentacle Sweep" attack when you are nearby.

For the "Jump Attack" in the second phase, back away or guard. Be careful not to back into the water.

The "Slam Attack" in the second phase is ideal. Dodge to the side to avoid it, then target Umi-Bozu's weak yellow center for significant damage.

Tips

Having fire damage on your weapon is highly beneficial throughout the fight.
During the "Slam" attack, dashing twice to the side will allow you to avoid the initial impact and expose his core.
The "Light Beam" attack, where Umi-Bozu moves his eyes to his mouth, is a one-hit kill attack that does 2000+ damage. You must be fast to dodge out of the way.
In the second phase, the "Slam Attack" is your best opportunity for counterattacks.

BOSS MOVES:

Tentacle Slam: Umi-Bozu slams an arm down. Dodge to the side. You can stand in front of his body to be safe and attack his body or arms.

Water Shot: Umi-Bozu shoots water blobs that do minor damage, inflict the "Water" status (reduces physical defense), and create Yokai Realm patches. Guard if you can't dodge.

Flop Attack: Occurs after breaking body parts. Umi-Bozu flops down to squish you. Get behind him or keep away. Blocking is an option if you have enough Ki.

Light Beam: Umi-Bozu moves his eyes to his mouth, then fires a stream of light. This is a virtually guaranteed one-hit kill attack doing 2000+ damage. Dodge immediately.

Tentacle Sweep: Second phase attack. Umi-Bozu sweeps tentacles across the dock when you are nearby. Guarding is recommended.

Jump Attack: Second phase attack. Umi-Bozu jumps and lands, trying to hit you. His body splays out on landing. Back away or guard. Be careful not to back into the water.

Slam Attack: Second phase attack. Umi-Bozu slams his entire body down. Dodge to the side to stay safe, then target his weak yellow center for heavy damage.
