Your ultimate guide to Nioh 3's Part 73 mission. Learn strategies to defeat Hollow Men, find key items, and conquer the final boss, Hundred Eyes.
Alright, we're heading into the final stretch of Nioh 3! Part 73 is where things really heat up, culminating in the ultimate showdown. Stick with me, and we'll get through this.
First off, keep an eye out for a [_CHAIR_] with a memory on it and a [_CHEST_]. After that, you'll run into a Knight in the hallway – take him out. Continue on, and you'll find a SHRINE on the middle level. Don't use it just yet! Head into the church area beyond it; there's a [_BIG CHEST_] there. Now, go back and use that shrine.
Descend the next set of stairs and move through the hallway. We're getting close to your cell! Outside, you'll encounter two more soldiers. One is inspecting something to your left, and the other patrols. You can easily take them both out by sniping the patrolling soldier and then sneak-attacking the closer one. Continue to the next staircase and head down, but make sure to check near the bottom for another [_CHEST_].
Open the doors ahead, and you'll see tanks. Things have changed since we were last here, and they're growing Fiends. Grab the [_CORPSE_] nearby. You can break the tanks here to fight each enemy individually, which I highly recommend. Take them down one by one, then enter the next room for a big surprise.
The tanks in this next section contain 'Hollow Men' – they're Kelley clones, not fully formed, but still incredibly dangerous. As soon as the first one breaks out of the left tank, you need to be on the offensive. Take him down as quickly as possible. If you don't know his moves, he can block attacks like the original Kelley, but his stamina is really low. He still has that dark spear attack, and if you're at a distance, he'll rush you with a lunging spear attack that can be deadly. The key here is to eliminate the first Hollow Man fast, then immediately focus on the second. Even if you take a hit, prioritize taking him down quickly. Once it's just you and the last one, heal up and finish him off. The last 'Hollow Man' will drop the [_ALCHEMIST'S LABORATORY KEY_], which we need to escape.
Grab the [_CORPSE_] to the left of the door and open the door to the next area, which reveals a flight of stairs. If you need to, you can now run back to the shrine from here. Continue up the stairs, and at the top, a cutscene will play, leading to the final confrontation.
BOSS ENCOUNTER: HUNDRED EYES
We've finally reached the last boss of the game: John Dee, also known as 'Eyes of the Queen.' He's the mastermind behind the 'Hollow Man' Homunculi and has been hoarding Amrita from all over the world.
As you just saw, John Dee has transformed into a monstrous form covered in eyes, which might remind you of Bloodborne. This makes him a massive target, and honestly, he doesn't move around too much. Using a fast weapon and applying status effects like Fire or Poison is super effective here. Hundred Eyes doesn't do much to defend himself most of the time. He can warp away, but he always reappears nearby, often in a better position to attack you. His 'Laser Eye Summon' has him stationary and regenerating health, but he's usually right in the center of the arena, making him vulnerable.
The main attacks you need to watch out for are the 'Laser Eye Summon' and 'Dark Shards.' The summon attack places small eyes around the room that shoot lasers at you. These lasers do very minor damage, and they disappear after the first time he uses the attack, so you can honestly ignore them and keep up the pressure. The second time he uses this, the eyes don't disappear. They can be destroyed in a single hit, so feel free to take them out. A wide-sweeping weapon, like the mid-stance spear's quick attack, is perfect for this. The 'Dark Shards' attack is also notable; Hundred Eyes summons shards (similar to how other enemies summon icicles) and throws them at you. These can be devastating if they all connect, so be sure to dodge them effectively.
As always, study his moves, keep your health topped up, and remember: this is the final boss. Use all your buffs, debuffs, and unleash your Living Weapon when he's around 30-35% health. Let's end this fight over Amrita once and for all!
BOSS MOVES:
- Laser Eye Sweep: This is a pretty unique move. Hundred Eyes sweeps lasers directly in front of him using his side tentacles. You can see this coming from a mile away. Dodge *through* the laser beams to stay safe, then attack from his sides.
- Rear Tentacle Smash: Hundred Eyes typically only uses this attack when you're directly behind him. He'll smash his tentacles down behind him.
- Don't be afraid to use your Living Weapon during the Hollow Man fights if you're struggling. They are tough, but manageable once you learn their patterns.
- For Hundred Eyes, prioritize applying status effects like Fire and Poison. They melt his health bar.
- If you get overwhelmed by the summoned eyes during the Laser Eye Summon, take a moment to clear them out. They are easy to destroy and make the fight much safer.
- Use the environment to your advantage. While he doesn't move much, positioning is still key.
- Alchemist's Laboratory Key
