Your 'Total Record' is basically your win streak. The more consecutive battles you win, the more Battle Points (BP) you'll earn. As you advance through 10 battles in a specific type category (like Fire, for example), the opposing Pokémon will get tougher, increasing in level and gaining different type attributes. Once you clear 10 consecutive battles in a type, that type gets locked out, and you'll need to move to a different type category. Be strategic about which types you pick! ### Double Battles For Double Battles, you'll choose two Pokémon from your party, but they have to be of the same species. So, if you pick Pikachu, you'll need two Pikachus. Just a heads-up, this mode is a bit different from the Single Battles. ### Popularity and Special Encounters As you rack up wins and advance through the type categories, you'll gain fans! If you're playing as a male character, your main supporter will be Winston. If you're playing as a female character, it'll be Serena. In Pokémon Platinum, if you manage a winning streak of 500 battles, you might encounter Professor Rowan's assistant. Hit 1000 consecutive wins, and you'll face Johanna, your mother! If you win, she'll award you the commemorative Silver Print for the Battle Hall. * Rematch: You can fight Argenta again once you've reached 170 consecutive matches.
