The Pokeradar is a special item in Pokémon Platinum that allows you to find wild Pokémon in grassy areas. By shaking the Pokeradar, you can trigger an encounter with a wild Pokémon. The grass patches that shake indicate a Pokémon is present. Continue to chain encounters to find rarer Pokémon.

Locations and Pokémon:

  1. Mt. Coronet (south): This area is accessible later in the game and contains a variety of Pokémon.

Available Pokémon in Mt. Coronet (south):

  • Clefairy: Found in caves, levels 17, 10% encounter rate during the day.
  • Zubat: Found in caves, levels 17-19, 5-15% encounter rate depending on the time of day.
  • Machop: Found in caves, level 20, 10% encounter rate during the day.
  • Geodude: Found in caves, levels 19-20, 20% encounter rate during the day.
Tips for using the Pokeradar
  • Listen for the sound of the Pokeradar to know when it's about to activate.
  • Walk to the shaking grass patch to initiate the encounter.
  • If you want to chain encounters, defeat or run from the wild Pokémon. Do not catch it, as this will break the chain.
  • The Pokeradar has a limited number of uses and needs to recharge over time or by walking a certain number of steps.
  • Different areas of Sinnoh have different Pokémon available through the Pokeradar.
