First things first, you'll need to have completed the game at least once to unlock this secret.

Make sure you have the standard Steel Pipe in your inventory. You'll need to have picked this up earlier in the mall.

Head to the Underpass, specifically the lower level where you encountered the room with the monster in the water (the same place you'd use the Dryer to deal with it).

It doesn't matter if the monster is still there or if you've already dealt with it. Approach the edge of the water and examine it. You should get a prompt asking if you want to drop your Steel Pipe into the water. Make sure the pipe is unequipped if you're currently using it.

Select 'Yes' to drop the pipe. A princess character will then appear and ask you three questions about the Gold, Silver, and rusted pipes she's holding.

To get the Gold and Silver Pipes, you need to answer honestly: select 'No' for the Gold Pipe, 'No' for the Silver Pipe, and 'Yes' for the rusted pipe.

If you answer correctly, you'll receive the Gold and Silver Pipes back, along with your original Steel Pipe.
