Alright, let's talk about the Submachine Gun (SMG) in Silent Hill 3. This is your first fully-automatic weapon in the series, and while each shot isn't super powerful, the sheer speed of its firing makes it a real threat. It's great for laying down a lot of fire quickly, especially when you need to deal with tough enemies or bosses.

The main downside is that you don't get a whole lot of ammo for it. Because of this, I'd really recommend saving most of its bullets for boss fights where its continuous fire can make a huge difference. However, if you want to use it more liberally, go ahead – you only get a few clips for it anyway, so it won't trivialize the game.

To use the SMG, you'll hold down R2 and X to fire continuously. If you want to be more precise and conserve ammo, you can tap the trigger for shorter bursts. You can aim up, down, left, and right using the left analog stick, but keep in mind that you can't actually walk while you're aiming down sights with this weapon. There's also an optional Silencer attachment that you can equip to be more discreet, though it does come with a small reduction in power.
