Amkethran

The Oasis: Upon arrival, Jamis Tombelthen will accuse you. He and his soldiers, along with Tethyrian Archers, will attack. After the fight, search Tombelthen for The Answerer +4 and a death order. The Tethyrian forces drop decent equipment. Continue east, fighting Battle Mages and Battle Clerics. Use the Deathblow ability. Proceed to the eastern edge of the map and select Amkethran.

Amkethran - Training Ground: Head east to find Captain Erelon training Mercenary archers. Buff up, save your game, and speak to Erelon until he attacks along with his trainees. Some mercenaries may join the fight, but avoid making the entire town hostile. Erelon drops the Darkfire Bow +4 (which can be upgraded by Cespenar later). If the bow doesn't drop, reload your save.

Amkethran - Monastery Gates: Head northwest to the Monastery Gates. A monk will summon Balthazar, who will update your map with the locations of two Bhaalspawns and restrict access to his fortress.

Amkethran - Asana Haraad: Head northeast. You'll find Asana Haraad about to be executed by mercenaries for petty theft. Her father, Omar, will appeal for your help. You can pay the mercenaries 5000G or fight them. Afterwards, speak to Omar for your reward: 500G, Montolio's Cloak (which can be enhanced by Cespenar with a clasp from Watcher's Keep), and +1 Reputation.

Amkethran - Inn Area: Near the inn, you'll encounter Saemon Havarian being harassed by mercenaries. Havarian will leave you to fight them. Inside the inn, Marlowe will approach you and ask you to meet him at his home on the cliffs. The innkeeper sells the Silver Ioun Stone. Hexxat can be found in the back room; recruit her now if you want her in your party, as she will disappear otherwise.

Amketh an - Priest of Waukeen: Head south from the inn. A Priest of Waukeen is berating a monk. Intervene on the priest's behalf. After damaging the monk, a Mage will appear and let you off with a warning. The priest will be grateful. You can give him 1000G for +1 Reputation and 3000XP per party member. You will also receive an Oaken Ring, which can be combined with the Nymph's Tear by Cespenar for a decent ring for Jaheira.

Amkethran - Workshop: Backtrack to the inn and enter the building to the right. Avoid disturbing the Commoner inside to prevent hostility and Reputation loss. Climb the ladder to the roof, then more ladders, and descend through the roof into the workshop of Lazarus Librarus and Kerrick the Smith. Lazarus has no new stock, but you can gain XP by unlocking a container next to him (though he may turn hostile if you look inside). Kerrick the Smith can identify uses for certain items.

Amkethran - Marlowe's House: Climb another ladder to the top of the cliff to find Marlowe's house on the right. Agree to hear him out; he reveals his daughter Malla's soul was stolen by the lich Vongoethe, located in the graveyard cave.

Amkethran - Cave of the Dead: Return to the village and go to the Cave of the Dead. Speak to the monk outside to gain entry. In the center of the chamber, Vongoethe will appear. Do not attack immediately; state you are there for Malla's soul to learn Marlowe bargained his own soul for wealth. Agree to return to Marlowe for now. You can explore the upper walkways by clicking on ladder bases, but be aware of trapped doors.
