Ask Catis about the lady of the house. She will direct you to Fennecia, the former maid.

Find Fennecia's Home on the top tier of Waukeen's Promenade. She will scornfully tell Cernd that his wife, Galia, is dead but offer no further details to him.

Have Cernd leave, then speak to Fennecia with your main character. She will reveal Galia took up with a noble named Deril and died under mysterious circumstances after giving birth. She directs you to Deril's estate in the Government District.

Rejoin Cernd and go to the Deril Estate in the southern Government District. Buff your party before entering.

Inside, a Golem named Glut will inform you that Deril is not home, prompting Cernd to become more determined.

Glut will fetch Deril, leading to fatal consequences for Glut. Deril will then appear.
