Guide to Lifting the Siege in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, covering the North Forest, Forest of Mir, and Marching Mountains, including companion quests.
Walkthrough
- 1In the North Forest, head north to engage Yaga-Shura soldiers attacking merchants.
- 2After the fight, if Neera is in your party, a messenger bird will deliver news about Vicross, initiating Neera's companion quest to attract Red Wizards.
- 3Continue north to find the surviving merchant, Karthis al-Hezzar, who offers services and scrolls/potions up to +3 enchantment. He also sells an Obsidian Ioun Stone.
- 4If you are gracious to Karthis, he will give you 1000G and +1 Reputation.
- 5Go south and east across stepping stones, cautiously advancing to kill two emerging Fire Giants.
- 6Continue east, eliminating Yaga-Shura soldiers in the southeast.
- 7Cross the footbridge to face a large Yaga-Shura force including a Mage, two Clerics of Talos, and two Fire Giants.
- 8At the eastern edge of the North Forest, you can select the Forest of Mir from the world map.
- 9If Rasaad is not in your party, consider returning to the Pocket Plane and using the Fate Spirit to summon him to start his companion quest when accessing the world map.
- 10From the world map, you can also access Watcher's Keep, potentially tackling the first two levels easily and possibly the third and fourth with sufficient High-Level Abilities (HLAs).
- 11If Rasaad is with you and you travel on the world map, you will be waylaid by Sharrans including an Assassin, Monk, Sorcerer, and Crusader.
- 12Search the bodies of the defeated Sharrans for a Torn Map, which adds the Deepstone Clanhold to your world map.
- 13In the Forest of Mir, buff up, including Negative Plane Protection, and proceed to meet Gorion(?).
- 14Defy Gorion(?), who reveals himself as a Master Wraith and summons mists and shadows.
- 15Engage the Master Wraith while your other party members and summoned allies deal with Devil Shades, Vampiric Wraiths, and Shadow Fiends.
- 16Your romantic interest will want to speak about the vision; be careful with dialogue choices to avoid losing them or screwing up the romance.
- 17Enter the temple and confront undead worshippers of Bhaal.
- 18Defeat the undead; search the corner of the area for a Nymph's Tear crafting component.
- 19Head upstairs to face more Mummies and Ghasts.
- 20Meet Nyalee, who reveals Yaga-Shura's invulnerability due to his heart being bathed in magical flames and requests his heart and hers to quench it.
- 21Return to the world map and proceed to the Marching Mountains.
- 22In the Marching Mountains, follow the path northwest then east, fighting Fire Giants.
- 23Encounter a group of Bhaalspawn (Kobold, Xvart, Goblin) led by a Chinchilla.
