The Southern Tunnels

Alright, so you're heading into the Southern Tunnels? Brace yourself, because this place throws you right into the thick of it. No gentle introductions here!

Walkthrough:

1. As soon as you enter, you're in a room with a Beholder and an Elder Orb. Don't just stand there gawking! After you deal with them, make sure to search the Elder Orb's remains. You'll find an Amulet of Spell Warding, the Blade of the Equalizer, and an Eyestalk of an Elder Orb – that last one is super important for a quest later in Ust Natha, so don't miss it.
2. Next, head up the tunnel. When it opens up a bit, you'll stumble upon five Drow duking it out with a Beholder. Whoever's left standing after that brawl is going to turn their attention to you, so be ready. Once the dust settles and the area is clear, scout around a niche in the cave wall. You're looking for the Sling of Arvoreen +4.
3. Now, this is a bit specific: have the character who's rocking the Shield of Balduran make their way to the very center of these tunnels. You'll find two Beholders and three Gauths chilling there. After that little rendezvous, push on southwest. You'll find yourself in the middle of a three-way fight: three Mind Flayers are battling three Gauths.
