Complete The Capitol Building section of fallout 3, finding books like D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine and Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor.
Walkthrough
- 1After dealing with the Super Mutant Behemoths, proceed east to a series of offices. Return to the domed room and go south to find a hallway. Enter the door on the left to find a staircase leading to the Hall of Columns.
- 2Upon entering the Hall of Columns, you will encounter fighting between Talon Company Mercenaries and Super Mutants. Allow them to finish their engagement, then proceed through the doors and clear any remaining enemies. Go through a door to the west and ascend stairs to reach the bridge where the Talon Company Mercenary sniper was located. On the span across the hall, near the south-facing railing, you will find .308 Rounds and a D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine. An ammo box is also nearby.
- 3Return to the ground floor and head south past Super Mutant corpses to a more open area with a deactivated turret. Collect the Assault Rifle, 5.56 Rounds, and three ammo boxes from the table. Proceed west past barricades to find a "Turret Control System" [Average] and a door to the south. Interact with the terminal as desired, then proceed through the southern door. You will eventually reach a locked [Hard] door on the right. This room contains numerous metal boxes on and around shelves, and a book on a table: a Chinese Army: Spec. Ops. Training Manual.
- 4Exit back into the Hall of Columns and continue south. You will encounter Super Mutants occupying the southern end of the hall. Eliminate them and proceed into a large room containing more Super Mutants.
- 5After clearing the room, go through a door to the south, take a right, and descend stairs. Across the hall, a Super Mutant and a Talon Company Mercenary will be fighting. You can let them fight or eliminate them both. Loot the room to the east of its contents. Then, proceed through the eastern side of the room. Continue east and descend stairs on your left to reach a door leading to the Conference Hall.
- 6Enter the Conference Hall and proceed up the stairs. You will hear combat between Super Mutants and Talon Company. Cross the hall to the north to find a small room. From here, you can go west through a locked [Hard] door leading to a supply room (no book). Two doors are to the north: one leads to the conference room, and the other leads upstairs. Enter the conference room and defeat any Super Mutants inside. Search behind the raised desks for Assault Rifles, a Frag Grenade, and two ammo boxes. A copy of Lying, Congressional Style can be found on the podium.
- 7Go through a door to the south and ascend stairs to reach the raised area above the conference room. Head west, then north, then east around this area, clearing side rooms. Proceed north through a room filled with electronics, then west through a hallway, and up stairs to the north. Upstairs, go west to find a door leading back to the Capitol Building West Entrance, where you will hear combat. Loot the upper level, then drop to the floor below and head west into the domed room to confront newly spawned combatants. After clearing them, return to the entrance.
- 8Head to the Capitol Building East Entrance. Loot the room you are in and proceed south. Eliminate the Super Mutant and loot the room. Exit through the door to the east into barricaded hallways. Head south, then east, defeating Super Mutants. You can use this entrance to flank Super Mutant defenses. Enter doors on the left to find loot, including alcohol. On one desk, you will find a copy of Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor, and on a nearby cabinet, a Pre-War Book. At the eastern end of the room, a Nuka-Cola Quantum is on a counter. The parallel hallway contains three ammo boxes and two Frag Grenades behind a barricade.
- 9Continue east into a room containing an exit to Seward Square and an exit to the Presidential Metro (currently inaccessible). You have now completed the Capitol Building section.
