Navigate the treacherous Evergreen Mills in Fallout 3 with our comprehensive guide. Discover hidden loot, defeat Raiders, and face the Super Mutant Behemoth.
Walkthrough
- 1Highway Hike: From Megaton, head west to an elevated highway. Follow it north-west until you find a smaller road below. Take this road westish, then north-west at a billboard. Continue north past an overturned truck with radioactive barrels and an overturned bus. West of the bus, find the Jury Street Metro Station. Before entering, note the Gold Ribbon Grocers (north-west), Hank’s Electrical Supply (west), and a Drainage Chamber (south-south-west).
- 2Gold Ribbon Grocers: Find a pressure plate indicated by arrows. This triggers a chain reaction involving a bear trap, grenade bouquet, and pitching machine, designed to dislodge a skeleton. The safe spot to observe is the pressure plate. The skeleton falls through a hole in the south-western corner, revealing a Mini Nuke, a Missile, and copies of Nikola Tesla and You and Tumblers Today. If books don't fall, use a Frag Grenade on the metal ramp in the south-western corner, east, looking up. Then, head to Hank’s Electrical Supply.
- 3Hank’s Electrical Supply: This location has Raiders, one with a Missile Launcher. Find a full condition Sledgehammer, Baseball bat, ammo boxes, and first aid boxes. A safe in the back contains a Stealth Boy. Climbing a ladder to the roof in the north-eastern corner is not necessary. Afterwards, head south to a radio tower.
- 4Radio Signal Oscar Tango: The radio tower is behind an [Easy] locked gate. Open it and activate the electrical switch to find Radio Signal Oscar Tango. Head north to a Drainage Chamber. Follow the tunnel to a room with a desk holding a Big Book of Science and a Pre-War Book. An electrical switch opens a floor staircase leading to alcohol, corpses, and potential Raider attacks. Then, head to the Jury Street Metro Station.
- 5Jury Street Metro Station: Head west into the metro tunnel. Behind a partition is a Work Bench with a copy of Dean’s Electronics. Go down stairs and south into tunnels with Raider beds. Loot ammo boxes and drugs from a table. Continue south past a door to the Jury Street Tunnels and a derailed train. At a break in the fence, cross to the other side of the tunnel and travel north. Find a table and shelf with loot. Head back south, then through the southernmost door to the Jury Street Tunnels.
- 6Ryan Brigg’s Research: Head east, looting chems from a desk and metal boxes from a shelf. Continue east to a tunnel leading south. Loot ammo boxes, then proceed south, killing Raiders. Turn east, then south, then east again. Enter the first room on the right. You will eventually reach a room with Ryan Brigg’s Terminal [Very Easy], detailing his Mole Rat experiments.
- 7Mole Rat Massacre: Continue until you rejoin the main tunnel. Cross the rails north into a natural cavern. Go north up a ramp to another metro section. Turn west, loot ammo boxes behind a concrete barrier, and head north up the western tunnel. You’ll find dead Mole Rats, bear traps, and Raiders behind a barrier. Go through the door behind the barrier and continue north. Take the first door on the right to find Ryan Brigg and his research room.
- 8Mole Rat Wonder Meat!: Find a Nuka-Cola Quantum by Ryan Brigg’s Terminal [Easy]. In the room are Mole Rat Meat, Mole Rat Wonder Meat, and the “Wonder Meat Maker” to combine Wonderglue (10 Caps) and Mole Rat Meat (4 Caps) into Mole Rat Wonder Meat (20 Caps). It's recommended to keep Wonderglue for schematics. Ryan Brigg’s safe [Hard] can be picked or opened with Ryan Brigg’s Safe Key. Ryan Brigg also carries a Bandana. On top of the safe is a copy of Lying, Congressional Style. Head north-west to exit back into the metro station and leave Jury Street.
- 9Crater Robbing: From Jury Street Metro Station, head west along the road in front of Hank’s Electrical Supply. At a fork after a collapsed telephone pole, head north-north-west. The road will disappear; continue downhill in the same direction. Pass a big rock and a trench. Head west-south-west down the trench into a crater. You’ll get Rads from radioactive barrels. In the crater, find a dead Wastelander, a safe [Easy], a personal footlocker [Easy], and an overturned army truck. Under the truck are approximately 96 Alien Power Cells.
- 10Something Wicked This Way Comes…: Backtrack to the intersection near the fallen telephone pole. Head west-south-west along the road. South of the road, near some trains, Super Mutants are located. Clear them out. A Super Mutant Behemoth will eventually appear. If Paralyzing Palm fails, use significant ammunition. Loot the Behemoth after defeating it. Head south-west along the train tracks.
- 11Evergreen Mills: You will find landmines and Raiders scattered around Evergreen Mills. Be cautious of engaging too many Raiders at once and avoid incidental damage. Clear out all Raiders.
- 12Unleash the Krakhemoth! (But Seriously, Don’t): North of the train tracks, you can free slaves by picking [Average] locked gates or using the Evergreen Mills Slave Pen Key from a Raider. A Super Mutant Behemoth is in an electrified pen. Shooting the generator outside the door disables the electricity, freeing the Behemoth. This can be done from cliffs south of Evergreen Mills to watch it rampage. Alternatively, let Raiders die, then shoot the Behemoth through the fence. Killing the Behemoth yourself is recommended for achievement credit. Ascend ramps near the slave pen to reach the Guard House on the northern cliffs.
- 13Guard House: Inside, find Raider loot: ammo boxes, meds, junk in wooden crates, and food in a fridge. The Evergreen Mills Slave Pen Key is in a locker near a bed (if not obtained earlier). You can sleep in the bed to heal.
- 14Northern Shack: From the Guard House, head south-west down the cliffs.
