This guide covers the hunts available at the Taelpar Rest Area in Final Fantasy XV.

Horned Hunting Hazards

Level: 23
Target: Dualhorn (x3)
Habitat: Secullam Pass (All Times)
Reward: 2 Stars, 3,480 Gil, Megalixir

These level 23 Dualhorns are found southwest of the treasure spot southwest of the rest area. They are weak to polearms, shields, and fire, while strong against ice and holy.

Hunters of Secullam Pass

Level: 34
Target: Coeurl (x5)
Habitat: Secullam Pass (Daytime)
Reward: 3 Stars, 5,600 Gil, Earth Pendant

Facing five level 34 Coeurls is a challenging battle. Coeurls have high damage output and can be hard to pin down. They have a magic attack that deals area damage and a spinning attack. Avoid attacking a Coeurl when it is resting on the ground with its whiskers glowing, as it will counterattack with a move that can one-hit kill you. They are weak to swords, daggers, and fire, while strong against lightning and holy. Using fire magic like Fira or Firaga, preferably with Dualcast, is recommended.

Reclaiming Schier Heights

Requires: Hunter Rank 4
Level: 37
Target: Redlegs (x3), Hundlegs (x5)
Habitat: Schier Heights (All Times)
Reward: 3 Stars, 6,220 Gil, Mega Phoenix

Found east of the Daurell Spring fishing spot. The level 20 Hundlegs are not a major threat (weak to greatswords, machinery, ice; strong against lightning, holy). The level 37 Redlegs are more challenging (weak to swords, greatswords, ice; strong against polearms, fire, holy). Neither enemy has a large health pool.

A Roaring in the Night

Requires: Hunter Rank 4
Level: 37
Target: Iron Giant (x2)
Habitat: Schier Heights (Nighttime)
Reward: 3 Stars, 6,310 Gil, Mega Phoenix

Located east of the Daurell Spring fishing spot, you will face two level 37 Iron Giants, each with nearly 100,000 health. These are tougher than normal Iron Giants. They have wide swings, making defensive play advisable. They are weak to greatswords, shields, and holy, while strong against fire. They do not disappear when daylight arrives.

Old Denizens of the Woods

Requires: Hunter Rank 8
Level: 63
Target: Elder Coeurl x3
Habitat: Thommels Glade (Daytime)
Reward: 4 Stars, 22,540 Gil, Fire Crest

It is highly recommended to consume the Fettini di Cernia meal from Altissia's Maagho bar (or Ignis's Tide Grouper Carpaccio) for instant death protection, as Elder Coeurls have instant death attacks. These level 63 Elder Coeurls have 181,000 health and are weak to swords, daggers, and fire, while strong against lightning and holy. One strategy is to level up to around 75+ and rely on summon prompts to defeat them. Alternatively, focus on one Coeurl at a time, using powerful fire magic like Quadcast/Quintcast Firaga or Flare (created with limit break catalysts). Watch out for the Coeurl resting on the ground, as it indicates an impending instant-death counterattack and health regeneration; use fire spells or Techniques to interrupt this state.
