Hey there! So, you're looking to tackle Randolph's sidequests in Final Fantasy XV? Awesome! He's a pretty unique NPC, a blacksmith in Lestallum who's obsessed with forging ultimate weapons. You'll meet him in Chapter 15, chilling in a dead-end alley past the weapon shop. He'll task you with hunting down some seriously tough monsters to get the materials he needs. Randolph's whole deal is that he's so dedicated to his craft, he's practically forgotten his own name! He sees Noctis as the 'hero of legend' he's been waiting for, someone worthy of wielding the legendary weapons he can forge. Let's break down his quests: ### A Legend Is Born * Location: Leide * Unlock: Reach Chapter 15 * Reward: 8,500 EXP, Iron Duke * Recommended Level: 55 For this one, you'll need to head to Leide and take down a Bennu. It's weak to polearms, machinery, and lightning. Your best bet is to equip Noctis with his strongest polearm, give it a lightning infusion with Ignis's Enhancement, and go to town with aerial combos. If you've invested in the Ascension tree, those airdancing nodes will really help when you warp-strike it mid-air. The Bennu's soaring attack is also a great time to parry and counter, leaving it vulnerable for some lightning elemancy. Just be careful when it's airborne! ### Dreadful Legend * Location: Vesperpool * Unlock: Complete "A Legend Is Born" * Reward: 10,000 EXP, Dragon Lance This quest pits you against a Malbodoom, and it's not alone – it's got Malboro Brat minions with it. These guys are weak to daggers and ice. So, get Noctis kitted out with his best daggers and an ice infusion from Ignis. You can even switch to Ignis and use his ice daggers. The Malbodoom's Bad Breath attack is your cue to strike from behind. The brats are mostly there to distract you, so try to avoid them. Since they're in the water, you can use Blizzard elemancy to freeze them, but make sure you're standing on a rock first, or you'll get frozen too! Keep an eye out for more of Randolph's quests as you progress. He's a bit of a hidden gem for getting some of the best gear in the game!
