Declaration of War

Learn how to defeat Loqi and his mech in Final Fantasy XV's 'Declaration of War' mission. Get tips on dodging attacks and exploiting weaknesses.

Alright, it's time for a boss fight against Loqi! He's hopped into a mech and brought some friends, Magitek Axemen and Snipers, to try and take you down. Honestly, it's a good idea to deal with his buddies first before you focus on Loqi himself. The Axemen will be right in front of you, but those Snipers are chilling on top of shipping containers, so you'll need to use Warp Strikes to reach them.

Now, about Loqi in his mech: he's got a few tricks up his sleeve, both with ranged attacks and some serious close-quarters moves. He'll probably start by launching a bunch of missiles at you, either straight on or into the air. If they go airborne, keep an eye on those targeting lasers – they're your best bet for dodging.

He also has a machine gun attack, but the spread is pretty wide, so you might not even get hit by that one. Up close, though, that mech can really hurt you and the team. Cor's got a ton of HP, so he'll likely be fine, but watch out! The mech's legs can stomp you for big damage. Its right arm can turn into a chainsaw, and Loqi will swing it back and forth trying to slice you up. One of the nastiest attacks happens when the mech puts up a shield; after a few seconds, Loqi slams that arm down, sending electricity across the ground around the mech. That one can easily drop your HP to zero, so be ready to move!

Your best bet here is to go for hit-and-run tactics. Using a greatsword on its legs is a solid plan – a constant assault can actually cripple the mech for a bit. Repeated Warp Strikes on the missile launcher and the shield can also disable those parts, leaving Loqi with fewer ways to attack you. Even though he hits hard, this boss shouldn't take too long to bring down with all five of you wailing on him. Oh, and one last thing: make sure to get away from the mech once you defeat it, because it'll explode!

After you've taken down Loqi, Cor will head off, and your party will continue on to Duscae. Meanwhile, the Empire's still up to no good.
